Welcome back!! My kids are grown, but still enjoyed the podcast about parents and quarantine. Lots of understanding and practical advice.

Here’s my 5-star review :), guys! Jordana and Shannon are so timely in all of their conversations. I always walk away from an episode, feeling knowledgeable and empowered. I’ve never been “into” podcasts until Call Your Mother and I am praying for more soon!

Love this podcast. Hoping they will continue. The always had interesting interviews.

Jordana and Shannon are wonderful to listen to - they are insightful, knowledgeable, funny, ask the right questions, and always make me wish the 30 minute episode lasted longer or that I could call one up myself and just continue the conversation with them. Having just moved out of the country, to a not-so-Jewish area, listening to them on walks through an unfamiliar city has helped me feel a bit closer to home just in hearing their topics/concerns/jokes as Jewish mothers and friends. I wish I had started listening sooner, but am very happy I finally did. Bravo to Jordana and Shannon for creating this wonderful space for us to listen!

I just caught up on the last two episodes. Both were fabulous. Thank you for these two gems - both episodes widened my perspective and made me more sensitive and knowledgeable about two very important issues. Thank you for Call My Mother and happy thanksgiving.

I travel a lot for work and always appreciate being “edutained” by this podcast while on the road. I learn something about Judaism, motherhood, and myself during each episode. And I also ride the emotional roller coaster of laughing one minute and tearing up the next based on the topics. Jordana and Shannon are smart but not untouchable. They are real and are open enough to talk about all aspects of being a Jewish mom/wife/daughter! Keep up the amazing work! It’s terrific.

I look forward to a new episode of Call Your Mother in my feed every week. Jordana and Shannon are intelligent, funny, and thoughtful. Their interviews with their guests are always empathetic, often broaching difficult subjects without sensationalizing or trivializing the topic. I’m likely to laugh and cry in the same episode. While the show often meets at the intersection of Judaism and parenting, you don’t have to be Jewish or a parent to enjoy this podcast.

One of my FAVORITE podcasts, hands down!!! Jordana and Shannon are smart, funny, and so very relatable. Their chemistry together is perfect. I love the guests they have on & their discussions are thought provoking, intentional, and the length is perfect! I can easily listen on one of my drives to and from work. Their podcasts leave me feeling inspired and hopeful. ❤️

Shannon’s sarcasm and revealing anecdotes. Jordana’s quick wit and sly laugh. Guests’ brilliance, insight, honesty, and wisdom. People in traffic next to me likely think I have lost my marbles because this podcast makes me laugh so hard tears run down my face. There’s no two ways about it — when you listen to Call Your Mother you’ll want front seat tickets to the taping of this podcast. Top Five Moments; 1. Shannon’s Slime Nap (!!!) 2. Gram’s comments about moms who drink wine to escape reality 3. Juju Chang’s recollection of her kids talking about her full time job 4. Leslie Shapiro’s story of slipping into addiction 5. Shannon’s grandmother on therapy And if by the end of the podcast you’re not singing the “Best I Can” theme song, we can’t be friends.

Sometimes in parenthood (especially in Jewish motherhood) it’s really important to feel like you aren’t the only one. Jordana, Shannon, Gram, & all of their guests really help with the loneliness factor of Jewish parenting. I live in a small town with a very small Jewish community and listening to CYM gives me such a sense of belonging to something bigger. It’s comforting, funny, enlightening, & a joy to listen to. I love these ladies. Feels like they are my best friends sometimes.

This episode was an enthralling discussion of a phenomenon I noticed for years, but didn’t have the social research to realize it was pervasive and systemic. It was relevant for every mother: Jewish and non, working and stay at home. I kept listening in my car, even after I arrived at my destination. Thank you for the validation! Well-done CYM Team!

I work from home and spend very little time by myself between work and kids. But when I have 30 mins to myself in the car, Call Your Mother is my go to! I feel seen as a parent, as a Jew, and a woman in 2019. It’s like being on a call with the sisters I don’t have! Thank you for giving me this escape that is actually my reality! Love you both!

So that definitely isn’t why I am writing this five star review. In my unbiased opinion, this is the best freaking podcast I have ever heard. Other podcasts should hang their heads in shame.

Fun, irreverent and deep. It’s perfect. I just listened to the pre-Yom Kippur podcast and it really made me think about my Judaism and what being Jewish means to me. At the same time, I smiled and laughed throughout.

Jordana and Shannon are longtime Kveller contributors, and now readers (and others) can hear them interview a range of people about so many different topics based on their expertise or life experience. In the end the theme is Jewish parenting, but I've gotten to hear from SCOTUS reporter Dahlia Lithwick as well as a suburban mom who battled drug addiction. When I listen, my dog walk/commute/laundry folding flies by.

Okay, so I’m not a Jewish Mother...yet but as a Jewish twenty-something, I absolutely love this podcast. Listening to Jordana and Shannon feels like having coffee with two old friends. In almost every episode, I laugh, I cry, and I find something to be deeply moved about. More than once I’ve pulled into work and had to fix my mascara because I’ve been tearing up listening to CYM...the good kind of tearing up where you feel like a better, stronger person than you did before. These two ladies are a delight to listen to and I feel like my world has grown since they and their wonderful guests came into my life. Thank you!!!

I recently just listened to the Yom Kippur episode, and I am hooked. Jordana is hilarious and so informative. I've felt this way about my Judaism, so it's so nice to hear other people talk about it so openly. Looking forward to more listening.

The content of this podcast is fascinating. Jordana is a very skilled interviewer--she has the perfect blend of injected humor but keeping focus on her subject - and the choice of subjects is fascinating. Deceptively, this podcast isn't really about parenting - I think it's actually about discovering our souls in this confusing era. When I listen to Call Your Mother, I find myself reconnecting to my values and to the goodness in the world. Keep up the great work

Call Your Mother talks about important topics in a fun and down to earth way. Getting a Jewish perspective is so critical at this time and feels comforting and familiar. Being a Jewish mom is complicated and Jordana and Shannon share their own wisdom and the wisdom of their guests to make the path much richer and easier.

I’ve laughed, I’ve teared up and I’ve most definitely learned while listening to the Call Your Mother podcast! I love the format of it! Jordana and Shannon do a fantastic job speaking with interesting and inspiring guests. They have an enjoyable and supportive rapport with one another that really comes through. I always look forward to hearing Grandma’s perspective as well and I feel #blessed after I listen. Can’t wait for the next episode to come out!

Call Your Mother is always entertaining and eye-opening, with guests who bring really fascinating perspectives about raising Jewish children. This is the kind of show where one week they’ll have an interview with a bestselling novelist and the next week with a former drug addict and then the next with a transgender dad and then the next with a graphic artist and then the next with the mom of multiple CEOs.... and as you listen you feel like all of these people are your best friend and you’re having coffee with them, and you suddenly feel, despite how different your life is from each of theirs, that in this great project of raising Jewish humans, you are not alone.

I have been reading Jordana’s work for ages now and was excited to learn about this podcast. I have not been disappointed. The banter between Shannon & Jordana, the amazing guests plus the range of topics covered make this podcast a must-listen for women regardless of religious affiliation. A true gem.

You don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy this podcast. It speaks to women, moms, and anyone who want to hear from diverse interesting women. And Gram give timeless advice.

Interesting guests and timely topics makes this parenting podcast from Kveller, a Jewish parenting website, not just for Jews. The hosts interviewing skills are strong as they ask good questions and then allow their guests to answer without speaking over them. Each episode ends with a call to Gram (host Jordana’s mom) - and I can’t decide if i find it gimmicky or if I appreciate the few minutes of inter-generational perspective.

Sometimes you just need a break from the news. At least I do. Call Your Mother allows some escape from the constant noise. The hosts deal with topics as varied as raising bi-racial children, losing a child, and preparing for the Seder. And, of course, at the end Jordana calls her mother. Call Your Mother!

This podcast reflects my real Jewish life as a parent and a daughter, and it's so entertaining. I love the guests, the chemistry of the hosts, and the calls to the Moms are like calls to my own. Each topic is carefully chosen and researched and I laugh, learn something new, and feel like I'm listening to old friends. Excited for a new one each week!

I loved this episode. Purchased Woj’s book. Working on implementing the TRICK method with my parenting skills. Love the calls to Gram. She speaks with great confidence and shares terrific wisdom. It’s as close as you can get to eavesdropping on smart moms weave together stories & topics that are hilarious, thoughtful, and provoking. Really enjoyed listening, made me reflect on ways to up my mom game.

I absolutely love Call Your Mother. I have laughed out loud while listening, which is usually when I'm cooking. I've cried. I've listened intently. I love the intelligence of the hosts, the realness of the guests (and the hosts) and quick pace and fun banter. The length of each episode is perfect for my life (I obviously don't spend hours in the kitchen) and I am so excited when a new episode is released. Keep making these.

This podcast is everything you need for your emotional soul as a Jewish parent. You’ve got an inspiring guest and hosts that make you feel like you’re not alone and not the only one who deals with dead fish, bunnies and temper tantrums. Best of all, they speak with a “bubbe extraordinaire” (Jordanna’s mom) who gives her down to earth advice on specific parenting issues. The end with #blessed, and it sets me in the mood for looking at all the things I’m blessed with in my first world bubble. Why haven’t you listened yet??!!

These two are off-the-cuff perfection. I listened to the Jennifer Weiner episode and I was hysterical laughing. Between Shana’s meatball story and Jordana’s understanding (or lack) of yoga, it made getting ready for school funny so much as I was able to tune out the nuttiness in my own house. Fun and insightful conversation.
