Animal Guidance Series: Mole Medicine
Do you love a good mystery? If so, the mole might be just the spirit animal that you can relate to. Overall, mole medicine is about getting down to the root of the problem or getting down to the root of the matter. It symbolizes persistence, organization, efficiency, conflict avoidance, energetic vibrations, psychic senses, weather prediction, luck, ancestry, magic, and the element of Earth. Animal Guidance Series: Manatee Medicine
Is life hectic and fast paced these days? Are you experiencing stress and overwhelm? Perhaps you don't feel as healthy as you'd like. Then call on the manatee to make steady and consistent progress in your life. Overall, the manatee is the spiritual sign of peace, calm, strength, serenity, and emotional balance. Seeing a manatee can be a reminder to slow down, practice self-care, and appreciate life. This gentle compassionate creature teaches us to apply inner wisdom and embrace emotions, and try not to change or control everything around you. In Okinawa, people regard the manatee as a messenger from the sea. One story tells that it was a manatee that first taught humans how to mate. In the South Pacific region there are many stories of the manatee, or “sea cow” as they call it. Their full glory includes women who transform into sea cows to help lost fishermen at sea find their way. They believe that if the creature ever becomes extinct, they also would become lost or extinct. West African stories speak of the lady manatee once an innocent young girl bathing in the water. A stranger took all of her clothes, so she turned into the lady of the sea, a water spirit who offers healing power and aids in fertility. Overall call on the manatee for compassion, curiosity, peace, generosity, breathwork, spiritual love, tranquility, shapeshifting, trust, maternal love, and the ease and flow of the element of water. Animal Guidance Series: Llama Medicine
Do you like to be of service to others? I know that I do. But probably like many of you, I never considered the llama to be a symbol of service. But it is llama people who are in for the long haul of service and move slowly and steadily to their goals. They are easy going, social, gentle, persistent, adaptable, able to endure considerable stress and have a tendency to compromise to please others. Over all the llamas are a symbol of confidence, perseverance, wisdom, adaptability, and service to others. The ancestors of the llama are believed to have originated in the great plains of North America 40 million years ago, even back in the Ice Age. Then about 3 million years ago, they migrated to South America. As a result, much of their symbolic meaning comes from Peru and the Andies. There the llamas were a great relief to humans when it came to transporting goods across great distances. So, call on the llama to help you out on your journey, especially when you are in need of courage. With their support, follow your heart instead of your ego. The creature's powerful essence will provide some magic into your life. So call on llama medicine. “Call IT in With Dar!”Support the show

Animal Guidance Series: Lion Medicine
If you are feeling particularly stressed or beaten down by any situation, and want to boost your sense of power and self-confidence, call on the medicine of the lion for authority, leadership, and the power of community. Lions are frequently known as the king of beasts, or the king of the jungle, and are sometimes depicted in artwork with a crown. Interestingly enough, the lion symbolizes the higher energies of the universe, and the crown chakra. It also has a very well-developed throat chakra, and a roar that can be heard for miles. In ancient folklore, the roar was used to summon the power of the sun, and to call lightning and thunder down from the sky. The lion is a universal symbol of courage, strength, royalty, majesty, wisdom, and knowledge of the ages. Lion medicine teaches us to stay centered in our core power, and to rise above impatience. Egyptian lion symbolism is one of wealth and the solar energy of gold. The lioness is a regal mother of protection with the Divine Presence, self-knowing and self-confidence. She hunts among her sisters, for the benefit of the pride. Together both lion and lioness teach the lessons of patience and clarity. The mountain lion appears in many tribal stories as a symbol of a wise leader who knows his intentions and leads with confidence, cunning, nobility, and courage. In some regions, they say that the lion moves silently in moccasins. So, lion as a spirit animal can help you be more connected to community. Call in the lion for courage, strength, royalty, leadership, clear communication, and a sense of community. All in lion medicine. Call IT in with Dar!Support the show

The Jaguars name means” true, fierce beast” and they weigh in at about 250 pounds. The Jaguar is a skilled swimmer. And unlike other cats who avoid the water, they love it. And they eat turtles, alligators, snakes, and crocodiles with their extremely powerful jaws. The ancient Mayans and Aztecs viewed this big cat with respect because it hunts both day and night. Animal Guidance Series: Iguana Medicine
The Benevolent Dragon is an appropriate nickname for today's animal spirit of the Iguana. The Iguana symbolism is restful, content, fulfilled and acutely aware. These creatures spend the majority of their life soaking up the sun on a warm day, moving only to feed and enjoying life. (That actually sounds like me at the beach when I traveled south for the winter). Just slow down and just be okay. Overall Iguanas traits are stoic, intuitive, content, relaxed, cooperative, grateful, fast and camouflaged. Although the Iguana is restful and relaxed, one of its greatest strengths is its quick reaction time and camouflage. Together this makes them great escape artists. They can also hold their breath for up to 30 minutes. So if they want to dive 40 or 50 feet from a tree into the water to escape, they can swim using their powerful tail. So call in the Iguana to slow down and just be! Call in the Iguana to be stoic, intuitive, content. relaxed, cooperative, grateful, fast yet camouflaged. Call in the Iguana! “Call IT in With Dar!”Support the show

Animal Guidance Series: Hyena Medicine
I have enjoyed Disney movies as far back as I can remember. And the Lion King is no exception. This episode isn't about the hero lion, but rather the hyena, the villain. After studying the hyenas' various attributes, I think that the movie is based on ancient African folklore. When they picked the hyena as the villain, the hyena is strong, clever, fierce and powerful in reality, their voice sounds like a laugh, especially when communicating during hunting. The movie portrays them as ugly, cowardly, brutish, and dangerous. The ancient African myths also show them as stupid, ugly, and powerful. In reality, they are actually wise, strong, community minded, have great stamina, and are good at escaping predators. So perhaps the movie gives them a bad rap! Hyenas are found in Asia and Europe, but mostly in Africa. Within the animal kingdom, they challenge the norm. They are very unusual animals that look and act a little like dogs, but they aren't canines. Nor are they members of any cat family or other family either. They are unique to themselves, and they come in spotted, striped or brown varieties. So call on the hyena energy for strength, stamina, and to finish that project you've been procrastinating on! Call on the uniqueness of the hyena to boost your self-confidence. Call on the unusual medicine of the hyena to be your authentic self! Call on the hyena, “Call IT in With Dar!”Support the show
