22 choses cool and 22
2022 came to an end, and I am not the kind of person to set clear resolutions for 2023 right on, but rather to look back on what the previous year brought me, before waiting for the rest of the new year to later on, and with a little bit more perspective, take some new resolutions. here are 2022 cools things in 2022, with my sister, in french.

What you can enjoy solely relies on trying everything
I hate Charles Dickens. I just had to say this. But I enjoy reading plenty of other stuff. We are all different and at some point we're never truly going to know what we enjoy if we don't try it. Relying on works of literature and personal anecdotes, my main point for today is to not limit yourself. Not only and/or exclusively when it comes to reading. À prendre ou à laisser :)

Disney Channel lied to us about academic life
It's senior year, and anxiety feeds itself from it. What makes that? The pressure of having to possibly condense what I want to undertake in one single year. College apps are on their way, and so is worry. An episode to help reflect on whatever is going on in your mind, if you're in the same case as me.

i'm terrified of the future, what about you?
However perfect we may want to be, we'll always be insecure. I'm scared of what's coming up. I'm scared of my life not being the same, of the things coming up and how this will affect who I currently am. Why do I have to rely on some things to make me feel safe about any kind of future that I might want to have? Very straight-forward: today is not an answer, but something more relatable and some personal advice that I try to tell my inner-self when I have a burn-out regarding where I'll be in 5,10,25,50 years. Take care of yourself. Thank you.

how media for children conditioned our perception of the perfect body
Podcast carried out in the context of the New York Times Podcast contest - Body image is how one views the only thing that has been and that will always be there for us.  The representation of it in media for children is not the right one as the messages conveyed in them are those of a body should be skinny, and underweight in order to feel pretty. This podcast regards how these films and characters shape a perception of HOW we should be from a young age unconsciously, and how this affects us in the future.

letting go of any kind of relationship
We've all had to mourn a relationship in our life. And I'm the first person to know how hard it can be to have to let go of one. We get hurt, we learn, we try, or we simply realise that sometimes, it's better off this way. It's a work over time, so here are the ways of acknowledging, heal from and understanding the end of a relationship.

why do we seek academic validation?
We are taught all our life that grades are one of the most important things to care about as a child and a teenager. However, those are the times that we are searching who we are as an individual, so no wonder we base our entire personality and need to feel proud of ourselves on those. As we grow up, it is important to realise that the grades we get at school are only a part, if not none of what our future will be like and who we will become as a person.

movies: what makes a story worthwile?
Stories exist in any form that's possible to be told. In movies, some of them can be seen as good, and some of them not :) So, why do sometimes, those get stepped over, and we end up in a popular movie theatre watching cats dancing in a basement for an exorbitant budget, while some of them could be worth the watch if they had the proper means to tell their story? What even makes a good movie? What makes it so that Greta Gerwig's Little Women felt like a better approach to feminism than any other adaptation of the classic ever made? Why do we relate to a story in a film? What makes it so that we adore it when a common popular opinion is that it's as simple and boring as ever?

growing up with ADHD
I really wanted to be doing an episode about ADHD. ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is a medical condition. A person with ADHD has differences in brain development and brain activity that affect attention, the ability to sit still, and self-control. My sister who has ADHD is the best person around me to talk about what comes with ADHD, mentally, in your everyday life and activities, advices for anyone who has a link to this condition, whether they have it or are close to someone who does, and how she has been living with all those years. Take care of the people around you, thank you.
