Memories from home
I recently moved from Minnesota to Georgia and listening to Bjorn and Fud brings me right back to summers in Minnesota. I love hearing their stories about being up at the cabin. I can smell the air and hear the sounds of the birds and the boats on the water. They’ve got a really great rapport and wonderful voices for radio! Thanks guys, keep the good shows coming!

Not to be missed!
This podcast is as much of an escape from the stress of everyday life as is its subject material!!! Bjorn and Fun consistently deliver in this smart, nostalgic, hilarious and well-produced (Thanks, Don!) trip up to and down memory lane. Great interviews, spot on homages, fantastic original music and general unpredictability make this a show worth returning to often!! Highly recommended!

Please do an Episode with Ren Holland!
Absolutely love you guys! So fun and filled with great stories, memories and nostalgia! Being up at the Lake is what life is all about and you guys embody that spirit perfectly! Can you please do an episode with Ren Holland about the history of the resorts and cabin country in the Brainerd Lakes? Would love to hear about the history on the Whitefish Chain and Gull Lake. Especially a resort called Indian Paradise and the fishing that went on there on the Whitefish Chain. I’ve heard so many legends about this place and would love to hear Ren’s Take on it! Thanks!

MN Culture
I was born and raised in MN, and now live in the South. Cabin Country truly takes me back to my youth, and has helped me indoctrinate my children into MN Culture. Although, they think I listen because Bjorn and Fud are always saying to “fill up your coffee.” Keep up the great work!

Outstanding
The production value, content, and chemistry between the hosts set this “get-away” podcast apart from the rest. It’s celebration of all things provincial in the Midwest is subtly sophisticated enough where I often catch myself listening twice to pick up on insights and clever wit I hadn’t the first time around. Their attention to detail, combined with an sense of just plain having fun with topics and people they cover and interview, make this a must listen.

Memory Chest
I fell like I’ve opened up a memory chest of my childhood memories around the Brainerd and Crosslake areas. Just found the podcast last week and have listened to many episodes twice already. Curious about any memories of the ATV riding area near Crosslake and going to Marv Koeps bait shop. Loved checking out the frozen catches from the week. Also our families first stop was always the Fleet Farm. Been driving the 660 miles from Kansas since I was 6 months old, in 1976. Just returned again with my family of six and kids get just as excited as I did.
Thank you so much for bringing back so many memories. Keep it up!!

Cove Out Time
Refreshing and relaxing
I don’t get to spend as much time in the outdoors as I’d like to, so I enjoy podcasts that make me feel like I’m there. These two fellas nail it. I am not from up north, and have never even been to Minnesota, so I’m sure half the references are lost on me, but I love listening and hope they come out with more.

Excellently Produced Nostalgia
You may not immediately think a podcast featuring a couple of guys talking about going up to their cabins as kids is worth a second listen, but the sound design and craft put into these episodes (not to mention the hilarious fake sponsor ads) is top notch and not to be missed. Love it.

Hoping for a second season!
I grew up in Minnesota and, I’m guessing, am about the same age as the hosts (late 40’s). These guys absolutely nail it. Perfect balance of story telling, (clean) humor and tons of nostalgia for the good ol’ days up at the lake, delivered in a dry style, a la Garrison Keillor and Prairie Home Companion. I have been living abroad but still managed to purchase a cabin up north in Minnesota recently and this podcast was perfect for getting me really excited about be able to spend more time up in lake country again. In fact, I played this podcast for my first guests at the cabin (also born and bred Minnesotans) on Memorial Day weekend, and they just loved it, too. One caveat, if you aren’t from Minnesota, or nearby areas, or haven’t spent time up at the lake on vacations from wherever you are from, then a lot of the subtle humor and references might be lost on you. My wife is from central Illinois and had never been up north before, and it just doesn’t quite resonate with her the same way. This seems to be an independent podcast (I can’t find anything about it on line), and there aren’t any commercials or stated affiliations. (Well, there are “commercials”, but they are actually skits.) Here’s to hoping these guys can put together another brilliant season!!
