Another green energy company files for bankruptcy and rich Americans are complaining about paying taxes on multimillion dollar windfalls.

Scott Bessent, just had his weekend ruined and had to go on tv and make the peace. Elon Musk, is slinking away from Doge and saying that it is up to Congress to make fiscal changes. Thanks, we knew that. We also know that consumers are having a hard time paying their bills and it seems that includes their buy no pay later bills.

Today we watch and wonder what Jerome Powell can possibly do? He is boxed in or is he?

The US debt just got downgraded. That shouldn't be surprising. What is surprising is just how quickly Trump's big beautiful bill is running into problems. That means without tariffs and Doge making lots of money that are deficits are going to get even bigger and fast. Flying is about as risky as loaning the US money, maybe that is why the Fed was forced to step in this week and buy some long term bonds. No one seems to want them.
