June 15, 25 LBLF | #329 | Stumbling
This week we look at Donald Trump's stumbles literally and figuratively. Tariffs aren't covering our spending, we have an immigration flip flop within a week, and we seem to be in a new war this weekend. Meanwhile, it seems our purchasing power is being stolen quite rapidly despite what the government is telling us officially. Another green energy company files for bankruptcy and rich Americans are complaining about paying taxes on multimillion dollar windfalls.

We look back at the biggest breakup of egos since the Beatles. Walmart is raising their always low prices, and Scott Bessent is having to do card tricks in the treasury department. Meanwhile the AI boom is promising us 25 new Hoover Dams in 18 months while Germany deals with the reality of their false projections, and Ukraine waits for the Russian retaliation that is coming from last Sunday's terrorism deep inside Russia.

Today we look at the worsening US/China trade relations, the TACO trade hitting Wall Street, and why there is one man in control in Ukraine. We then offer a little insight to what is coming right around the corner, a housing meltdown, the rich getting even wealthier, and Americans will be next to have their entitlement programs changed and taken.

Out of the blue, Trump reciprocal tariffs were ruled to be unconstitutional. What does this mean? What about Doge? What about the big beautiful bill? What is happening? I have lots of questions.

May 25, 25 LBLF | #323 | Big Beautiful Debt
Today we explore the debt disaster making its way through Congress and its ramifications. The bond market is showing us what they think of it as we had a terrible 20 year bond auction this week. Meanwhile, the revenue generator in chief just got his first tariff check and its 50% short of the goal. Perhaps this caused Trump's twitter meltdown Friday morning, with 50% tariffs on the EU and 25% tariffs on smartphone manufacturers unless they build phones here in America. Scott Bessent, just had his weekend ruined and had to go on tv and make the peace. Elon Musk, is slinking away from Doge and saying that it is up to Congress to make fiscal changes. Thanks, we knew that. We also know that consumers are having a hard time paying their bills and it seems that includes their buy no pay later bills.

The US debt just got downgraded. That shouldn't be surprising. What is surprising is just how quickly Trump's big beautiful bill is running into problems. That means without tariffs and Doge making lots of money that are deficits are going to get even bigger and fast. Flying is about as risky as loaning the US money, maybe that is why the Fed was forced to step in this week and buy some long term bonds. No one seems to want them.
