A short introduction to what’s been happening in the past couple weeks and what’s gonna be happening in the next few months and beyond. Specifically focusing on The Pretty Nerdy digital marketing and prepping for the next AWS certification.

Sharing about new opportunities that have come my way during the past couple of months of working on social media campaign for a candidate in the local primary election and expanding my services to other businesses for website development, social media and content marketing.  It's something I've always found interesting but never really thought too much as a service to provide.  Richard Branson says if you're given a new opportunity to just say yes and figure it out later.  I tend to live my life by that. After being gone for a couple of months due to illness and a pandemic, I’m back! In this episode I talk about getting back into the swing of things, changing my teaching style, and how to keep students motivated by bringing in guest speakers.

This week I attended the OETC2020 conference. I was a judge for the Drones in School contest and I also had my Playground event where I focused on Playing to Learn. Here I share my insights from what I’ve learned from others and what I’ve been inspired to do next.

In this episode I talk about today’s experience as a volunteer at Trimble high school. When given the choice of doing something drag & drop vs hard coding they choose hard coding. Students are engaged in the process of learning - which is awesome!

We attended a meet up, a WordPress meet up today at IHOP in Athens. We is myself and one of my second year students. A lot was learned By both me and my student. The timing was perfect because she just got hired on to redo a wordpress website.
