3 Pros and Cons of Travel Baseball
If you aren’t sure if your child is for travel baseball. Or if you are simply unfamiliar with it, this podcast episode will help answer some questions and maybe even prompt some more. Baseball is becoming more and more about “haves” and “have nots”. The goal of Conder Baseball is to bridge that gap. But none of that matters if you or your player are not fully prepared for the hat travel baseball is and is not.

Bucket Talk w/ Coach T Ep. 1 Guest Joey Hammond
It's not everyday you get to interview your childhood hero on episode 1 of your first podcast. That's not even the cool part... You see, I literally had a back seat view of a decade long professional career in the making from little league to the HOF (Frederick, MD YMCA). I was at every game, lots of practices and a ton of those games were spent as the batboy for the teams he played from Babe Ruth to UNCC!  I've seen him play at Frederick National Little League and McCurdy Field in Frederick, MD. I've seen him play the Crown All Star Game at Camden Yards and I've seen him play at the Diamond in Richmond, VA.  I've seen play in the backyard of every house we lived in. I fell in love with the game of baseball being Joey's bat boy and 1-on-1 backyard baseball/wiffle ball opponent so it's my honor to have him on the inaugural Bucket Talk w/ Coach T Podcast/show as my first guest. We discuss a wide range of topics, player development being chief among them. Mental strength and being in love with the grind of being a baseball player being a close second. It takes a different person to be a baseball player. When you're failing a lot more than you're succeeding, it's hard to remain positive and show up repeating the same drills/reps day in and day out.  We discuss FAITH and how it's an action word, used by religion. But it simply means acting on things you believe and don't yet see. And how faith helped him get to the next level throughout his career.  Stick around for the entire video (within the last 15 mins), you'll love to hear what he says he would have done or would be doing if it wasn't a baseball player/coach. There is a really big tip in what his answer is. His resume speaks for it's self, a very talented and hard working amateur baseball player with lots of awards and accolades. A very solid and steady "everyday" utility player professionally for 11 seasons, playing every position except catcher during that time. Accumulating over 1,100 hits while hitting .274. When he was done playing, he had a very successful tenure as Head Coach of the Westchester Country Day School Baseball Team. He won 3 State Championships in 4 attempts in his 5 years at the helm. Now serves as an Assistant Baseball coach with Wake Forest University working with the hitters and outfielders. His dedication to studying film and throwing BP daily has helped Wake Forest be among the top offenses in college baseball the last several seasons (along with Coach Cilento and Coach Walter). This is not an Xs and Os talk. We talk more about the heart and hustle and mental side of baseball. We talk player development beyond the drills and reps. This is a can't miss episode if you're a baseball parent, player, coach above the age of maybe 10, (younger may need some translation to understand the things we discuss).  Grab a note pad and pen and learn from a former professional baseball player and current professional coach, Travel Baseball Organization Owner(Diamond Deacons). For those that want to learn something, this hour plus is full of nuggets.
