One of the best narrative-first real-play podcasts around
I’ve been listening to Brute Force since the rough and tumble Dungeon World days, and the quality of both the acting/roleplaying and storytelling from Adam, Carly, Pat, John, and eventually Ray has been both supremely enjoyable to listen to and impressive to note as their story has grown and spiraled out of control. At this point I’m not even sure where the story is going anymore and every new episode is the highlight of my day, week, and year. If you want to listen to an involving story with tons of funny goofs, great story moments, and a talking dog with a weirdly Bronx-y accent, this is the podcast you should look to first before seeking medical attention. There’s a short list of podcasts that I hold close to my heart and would re-listen to on a whim, and Brute Force is easily in the top 3 of those. I will probably become inconsolable when this storyline reaches its eventual conclusion, and then I will most likely sue all five parties involved in its creation for emotional damages and distress. Also, just as a side note, the banter between Ray and Pat kills me every time and I honestly don’t know how you all are able to even get through an episode with both of them at the same session.

I love this show; every time a new episode comes out I get so excited because it feels like I’m hanging out with my best friends… except these characters get into way more trouble than my friends. The story is compelling and the characters are fun! Keep up the good work and pie ya later! Side question for Adam Bash, will Mirka the Yeti ever be back to make a guest appearance?

Welcome to the 🙅🏻‍♂️🚫NO YIFF ZONE🚫🙅🏻‍♂️
Are you tired of listening to Dungeons & Dragons podcasts that BASICALLY require an advanced Calculus degree to keep up with all the math? Did you ever want to hear what happens when a bird immolates a person? Well, oh boy howdy, is this the podcast for you! Listen as a vampire, kitsune, mummy, and reverse mereperson traverse a land where sporks no longer exist, stick’ums no longer stick, and magic done broke (unless you’re starting with episode 1, then see bird immolation above, back when the gods were still dead lol), while being more or less forced to save the world (again) from vampiric financial advisors and regular vampires (who I assume are not as good at math but are good at other things like maybe cooking?) and more (I just can’t think of anything else right now, maybe carnies if you count Hollis’ origin story?). Heck, even my boyfriend, who is sometimes forced to listen to random episodes with no context, fully enjoys the shenanigans that they get up to, so consider this a TEN STAR REVIEW! And if the jokes and references here are going over your head, stoat worry about it, just hit the play button and soon all will be clear. Oh and the best part? Remember all that math talk? Yeah, there’s a horse for that. Crust ya hams on the flippy flop. (Are we still doing the voice thing? Cause I think we need to hear from Carol 👀)

Felt cute. Might delete later.
I’ve waited until episode 83 to write a review because I can’t find the words to praise this podcast highly enough. The players and GM stay having fun, but also really care about the world they’re creating.

Yep
Just finished episode six. Probably the 3rd best boat-theft podcast I’ve ever heard. Can’t wait to hear more boat-theft based shenanigans. 5 Stars.

Good times, good laughs
Decided to check out this podcast after listening to Greetings, Adventurers! They immediately dive into the roleplay head first. The world is rich and vibrant with lore and culture, and the characters captivating and hilarious. I have to take breaks between episodes because my face hurts from smiling and laughing. Definitely give it a listen.

Amazing
This group of friends genuinely has fun and you can hear it in the laughs giggles and bad puns. I think murder rampage Mort is hilarious, missing Ezra In season two but Leland is a great character. Hollis and her interactions with the sassy Kami are a thing of comedy genius. Yet as everyone else I may love Jasper the most. Keep it up you are all FANTASTIC!!!!

It’s shark week!
This week we need show appreciation of Hollis. What is the shark version of pspspspspsp so we may give lots of pets?

Hilarious and outrageous!
As great as this whole podcast is, the funniest thing ever was probably hearing Ray lose her mind laughing at Adam’s “Zatarain’s” voice. End of ep 97. Otherwise, wonderful story telling by Adam and role playing by John, Carly and Patwick! Looking forward to catching up and seeing where the story goes. Thanks for all the laughs everyone!

I like this podcast
Seriously. This is a really good podcast. It might be one of the more polished of all the real play podcasts I listen to. Period. And Adam's framing device is brilliant and hilarious. Not to mention the players! From the moment they intro each player is as brilliant as the last. When I think I've picked a favorite (usually Ezra) someone does something that reminds me why their character is my secret TRUE favorite. From Mirka's obsession with her fur to Lola's shiny things and Carly's bird voice and not to forget Mort & Rufus and John's INSANE lucky rolls at just the right time. This entire cast is 13/10. Someone fix the rating system. Oh yeah. And Ray/Cammie’s energy is absolutely brilliant. Her charming friendly insults make my night. #sporksaresomething

Can’t wait to see where this story goes post relic arc but I’m going to miss Ezra and Lola but mort and camie are my 2 favorite characters. You guys do an amazing job at making my job fly by especially during this pandemic hopefully I’ll get to meet you guys at GeeklyCon. Stay safe and Pie ya later!

Only issue is episodes dont come out fast enough
The title says it all. After getting caught up on the Greetings Adventurers podcast, I started listening to other Geekly Inc podcast and this was the first one. Absolutely love this podcast. They use the Fate Core system which, primarially having played and listened to DnD, this was an interesting change of pace and I love how it allows a more RP based approach to gaming.

What a great podcast! This was one of the first podcasts I ever listened to, and I thought I would NEVER be able to catch up. Clearly, I didn’t count on becoming hooked on the energy of this wonderful crew as they explore the creative and magical (?) world of Eorith. I love all the characters, especially Hollis and real flesh-boy mort. Leland is hilarious, and Cammy’s cool too, I guess! The NPCs Adam creates are always… ALWAYS… fleshed out. Especially if their name is Greg. I love this show, and I hope there is plenty more to come!

Mostly awesome!
I’ve really enjoyed this show for a couple years now, but with this most recent arc I might have to stop listening. Almost everyone on this show is amazing to listen too, but now that Ray appears to be leading the group I just can’t stand it. I don’t know how much of Cammy is just Rays way of talking, but I can’t stand her constant repeating every other word and never being willing to do anything to advance the story. For a show that try’s to focus on Yes And, I hear nothing but No from Cammy. Also for a show about accepting non traditional creatures as normal her constant abuse of Mort post resurrection not only got old really fast but is now holding up the plot because she refuses to treat him like a person.

Good stuff
Adam is a great DM and his voices are hilarious. The different voices of all the character make it easy to follow—Alex as the Golem cracks me up at least once an episode. Only at episode 15 now so -1 for the Yeti player’s weird obsession over her hair and general inability to achieve coherent thoughts.

Word to the Wise
There are some podcasts you wait to listen to. There might be other things on your list. Maybe those are the other wonderful shows under the GeeklyInc umbrella. Those shows are good, but no. Don’t make the mistake that I did and wait to listen this podcast. Drop your current podcast and listen to the adventures of the Brute Force now. The show features a colorful cast of characters as they navigate the world and discover the secrets of the Gods themselves. Here are your current players. Patrick Rankin plays the sugary sweet Leland Deacon, a mummy who would never endorse child labor. Carly Shields is playing Hollis, a very beautiful, very yoked shark-person just living her best life. John Caufield and Michaela Ray bring back their first chapter sweethearts, true hero, Mort the Skeletal (skin?) ranger and Cammy the Kitsune, the most important character who is very good. No one knows who Adam Bash plays, but until he getsthat figured out, all I can say about him is that he is very good storyteller, both as Jasper Spitwhistle and as the GM who weaves the story into action. Together they are the Brute Force. If you’re still on the fence about listening, git on down from there and get yerself your favorite listening device and plug in for that first episode. Trust me. It’s worth every minute.

Outstanding Actual Play
This show is a perfect blend of player characters, a great GM, and solid production. The players navigate the world, battles, conversations, dilemmas, etc in creative and hilarious ways. And the GM somehow keeps the reins without stomping on anyone’s fun. This isn’t a game system I’ve ever played before, but the group makes it seem accessible and fun. It’s funny and clever and always entertaining. I highly recommend!

best actual play podcast ever
Ever since I got introduced to this podcast, I've been in love. All the players (and the DM) have such hilarious chemistry with each other, and it's amazingly fun to listen to. All of them bring something special to the group. The jokes are nonstop and always leave me laughing. Even though I loved the old characters dearly, I'm extremely excited for the new crew we have (especially Hollis) and the new group dynamic we'll have as a result! I'm usually in love with characters within their first few words, and that still holds true. I usually can't get into actual play podcasts for whatever reason, but Brute Force gripped me right away and hasn't let go yet. Highly recommend it both to people who are fans of the genre and who aren't. (Also, theres a lot of niche Jewish jokes, and I appreciate that.)

Its pretty good radio I enjoy the rp from the characters but I myself don't care for the Jasper parts. I think thats a little annoying but listening to the game play is great.

Alright listen y’all, this is it. Finally got what we were all looking for. I won’t spoil it and tell which episode it is, but if you’ve ever wanted to here the phrase “ wield a baby” you’ve found the podcast for you! Honestly a great podcast with excellent storytelling and hilarious role playing. Thank you all for the great show!

The best thing to come from Random Encounters
Ever since I found your wonderful tale on the Random Encounters feed I was hooked. From the interesting way of telling the story as Jasper to the wonderful characters, this is a delight. Each PC has brought something different to the table and the synergy works. Plus the actual players chemistry creates a great time for all. I especially love the outros, I was absolutely cackling during the Horse interruption, and the outtakes. Keep bringing the heat, you all are amazing.

Enthralling entertainment
A couple of shows in and I really enjoy the podcast. Great characters and great story. Once I caught up to Drunks and Dragons I was afraid I would have nothing left to binge listen to. Got to say you all are my favorite podcast now.

Lucky You!!
If you’re reading this there’s 80 episodes, consisting of a full arc to binge right now! Such a great listen, engrossing and endearing I fully recommend this one. Adam Bash provides a great GM experience and his narrator Jasper was the first thing that hooked me. The rest of the cast is awesome as well, distinct, funny, ernest and often lovable. Together they all provide and exciting journey with goofs and genuine moments along the way. Very new to this whole genre, but, it’s podcasts like this one that will make me a lifelong fan. #HausOfOCana

OH MY FREAKIN GORSH! LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST!
I've been listening to Brute Force for quite awhile now, and I could gush about them for days. It's a wonderfully thought out world run by THE Adam Bash. He's done an incredible job creating the setting, directing the action, reining in his unruly player characters, and giving them so many opportunities to help him develop and change his world with his "Yes, and," style of game mastering. All that speaks nothing of the memorable characters he's created like the eloquent, endearing and irritating bard Jasper Spitwistle, or the half dwarf, half gnome tinkerer Janoff and his frightening hamfaced Frankie constructs. While we're on the topic of characters, the players are obviously the Stars of the show. Lola has grown from a terrified, wingclipped apprentice, to a powerful wizard who can invoke as much fear in her enemies as she regularly feels on a daily basis. Mort is so much more than a pile of animated bones. He's a pile of animated bones with a bow, a charming personality and an equally charming accent. Ezra is an erratic golem with a penchant for the dramatic. He's truly the heart and soul of the group, and drives the action with his chaotic "Imma do this thing and see what happens," personality. And lastly there's my personal favorite of the party, Kami Okana the kitsune. She's a wily, nimble, scamp of a fox who can cut deeper with her words than she ever could with a sword. Don't worry Kami, you'll get all of those extra tails. I couldn't recommend this podcast higher. It's been a blast listening to it, and as sad as I am to see this adventure reaching its conclusion soon, I'm doubly excited to see what's next in store for the Brute Force.

Everything’s a tree
I am crying in my druthers. Binged episodes and almost caught up. Incredibly funny cast. Jasper Spitwhistle is fantastic way to transition between episodes and funny story on it’s own. HORSE! Highly recommend this podcast.

All Stoats agree this podcast is amazing
I picked up this podcast after catching up to current on greetings adventures because I loved Adam bash and Carly’s guest spots on it, and honestly I was blown away the story telling that Adam does is amazing and John,Pat and Carly really throw their all into the characters. Ray was the perfect addition to the group bringing the podcast to a whole new level as well.

Only regret is not listening sooner
About a year ago I binge listened to all of the random encounter feed and my one regret was skipping over the podcasts that appeared who would become their own later and I missed this gem. Well a month ago my dad recommended I listen to it and I quickly devoured every episode. Erza and his crazy attitude is a treat to listen to and you never know what he’s gonna say. Lola has grown so much as a character and I’ve enjoyed listening to her change. Mort is the voice of reason most of the time and the accent is so pleasant. And don’t get me started on kami, she can be quite hilarious and hope she can grow all those tails one day. And jasper some how is the icing on the cake that is the Brute Force. Cannot wait for the next episode.

Blind Guy’s Ham & Pies!!!
I just met all the cast atGeeklyCon2019! They are all super chill and kind! And the show is incredibly fun! From sick rap battles, to brothels with tiger ladies that are more like cougars, to 1,200 foot tall hyena gods, to characters namedBestus wrathtaint(sp?), this world is full and vibrant! And I’ve learned a lot! Ezra taught me that finger banging is dangerous without practice. Mort taught me never to miss bone day at the gym. Lola taught me that greed is not always bad. And Cami taught me what the fox say! And most importantly,Jamtooth taught me that everything is a tree. Time for me to open my ham and pie restaurant! You guys rock! Even Jasper!

Potato-riffic!
This podcast is absolutely one of my favorite TTRPG real play podcasts (and I listen to quite a few). John, Patrick, Carly, and Adam do wonderful jobs creating silliness punctuated with truly heart-wrenching emotional moments. Oh, and Ray is there, too. (JK Ray you know I <heart> you too!) When it comes down to it, just remember: Everything is a tree. Crust ya later, okay pie!!!!

Smooth as marble
While smooth as marble might not be true for Ezra anymore it was still an amazing and unforgettable goof. Love everyone on this from Ezra (Pat), Mort (John), Lola (Carly), Camie (Ray, Jasper (Adam), I also loved the yeti but she's been mostly M.I A. And it's hard to spell her name haha. HORSE.

Hijacked my sisters account-
Just trying to send Jasper some love... He’s not the bard we need, but he’s the bard we want...
jedigoddess
No love for blueberry pie?
The Saga of Jasper Spitwhistle will make hangman cry, a hanged man laugh. It will transport you to a simpler time, and enthrall you with it’s intricate dramas. This Bard stands alone; Homer, Snorri, Shakespeare... as journeymen to a master. Plus, it’s got pie. And if you don’t like pie then you can just go straight to heck. Seriously though, this cast is incredible. I’m nearly caught up and can’t wait to see where these goofballs end up. Brute Force is the best force.

A Titan Among Actual Play Podcasts
This podcast is a delight. Adam Bash is an amazing storyteller and the cast is excellent. Always a delight. It’s also a show that sweats the small stuff, whether it’s the ongoing framing story that bookends each episode, or the little touches that get added along the way. Excellent production and has the best theme song of any AP podcast. The only thing that could make it better is if it came out every week!

This podcast is a fabulous joyride
Friends, it's Corpse lover Gary here, telling you that if you are still undecided on whether or not you want to give Brute Force a shot, don't be. Listen to this podcast and fall in love with the story and the players just as much as I have. Fantastic world building, a story with high stakes, a cast that has great rapport with one another, and great music are just a part of what makes this podcast special. The hardest part is knowing that I have 2 weeks to wait before I can once again hear "Greetings fine patrons, welcome to Guilded Ram Groghouse and Tea Room"

Best Piecast Around
A skeleton, a harpy, a fox, and a bush walk into a bar... this isn’t the start to a joke, it’s the Brute Force! Mort is by far the star of the show, and the fox is pretty ok. This podcast has drama, comedy, and adventure. It’s guaranteed to leave you traumatized, but it’s worth every minute!
