Last Sunday we were invited to host a conversation on generational spiritualism and the importance of reclaiming Black spiritual practices, particularly Hoodoo traditions.
The nucleus of ATR, Kemetic & indigenous practices are oneness; oneness with Divine, with spirit, with nature. The disconnect that children of the diaspora specifically resonate with is our detachment from that which not only grounds us, but defines us.
Our African ancestors were directly connected to the elements ( earth, water, fire, air) and our ancestors.
In this episode we talk the birth of Hoodoo, ways to connect with your ancestors, honoring the land before you, cleansing your energy and more.
If you missed it on Sunday, the full day is available for purchase on afroyoga.org which includes:
Taking Your Power Back: Guided Meditation with Lalah Deliah
Reclaiming the Origins: Kemetic Yoga Flow with Afro Yoga founder, Angie Franklin
Ancestral Nutrition + Plant-Based Medicine w/ Melinda Penny-Washington

Activating your activism in this moment will look + feel different to each and every one of us. To be part of the revolution, black women, us, you, must fully accept that YOU are the revolution. We’ve done this, we’re doing this, been doing this.
In this episode we chat about sovereignty, wholeness through inhibited expression, activism through parenting, unearthing your purpose in the revolution, living in our truth as black women, radical joy, loudly existing + SO much more. Join us in this conversation in honor of us, black women, who have always been on the frontline of the revolution. We see you, we love you, we celebrate you, we ARE you.

In order to be grateful, you have to be fully present in the moment and experience it in all of its richness. Take some time with us to journey through gratitude; why it’s important, how it applies to the manifestation process and more. Happy black history month + may we continue to live in gratitude today and everyday, with the sacrifices and work of our ancestors always in our mind and hearts.

We're baaack! We missed you, beautiful brown girls. This new episode you might need to take a *deep breath* because we're diving deep. Through our grieving experience, we are exposing our vulnerabilities + shared lessons with you all. We had to take some time out to nurture ourselves + fill our empty cups so that we would be able to send some light your way. We hope this episode reconnects our tribe + that each one of you is able to gain understanding + wisdom from it.
P.S Happy Full Moon in Virgo, we've got a 5 minute ritual/spell for you to use!

“Sis” this, “sis” that. We throw the word around so freely, yet we don't seem to genuinely embrace each other in that light. In this episode, it was important for us to dissect the dynamics between black and brown women, on and offline. We’re supportive on the internet, but do we genuinely keep that same energy in person? Let’s be honest, so we can move forward and truly “run the world”, word to our queen Bey. We’re talking about sisterhood; what that looks like, feels like and means to us. We share our negative and positive experiences within the realm of sister, whether friendships or just sharing space. How can we show up for each other with respect and acceptance? Encourage someone else’s tribe and find your tribe.

We know it's been a minute and we've missed you, tribe! It was necessary for us to take a step back and heal while we navigate through the losses we’ve been facing. For the 10th episode we wanted to bring it back to the circle of life. We all experience loss in some way shape or form. This seems to be the underlying theme of this eclipse season, so we’re journeying through loss by circumstances beyond your control and loss by means of releasing. Plus, we’ve added a new ritual to our podcast experience--a tarot reflection! (sorry for sound quality on this one!!)
