The group is part of the NC Veteran’s Writing Alliance Foundation. Join Dr. Bruce Kelly, Assistant Chief of Primary Care at the Charles George VA Medical Center and Lead for the Creative Writing Program, and Joseph Bathanti, McFarlane Family Distinguished Professor of Interdisciplinary Education at Appalachian State University, former Poet Laureate of North Carolina and co-founder of the Charles George VA Medical Center’s Creative Writing Program, to hear how they created a novel creative writing program for Vietnam combat veterans with a focus on capturing stories through narrative and poetry to find the voices war had taken from them.
