Jane Prophet is an academic and artist whose interdisciplinary work combines contemporary art, technology, and health studies. With a background in fine arts and digital media, Prophet’s research explores how creative practices intersect with societal challenges, including climate change, sustainability, and the promotion of health and well-being.In her artistic practice, Prophet employs digital tools such as artificial intelligence, projection mapping, and interactive media to explore themes of ecological change and human-environment interactions. She has collaborated with scientists to create art that bridges the divide between art and science, demonstrating the potential of these collaborations to address societal issues. Dr. Luca Susmel is a Professor of Structural Integrity (Transforming Lives Fellow) at Sheffield Hallam University. He works with the static, dynamic, and fatigue assessment of engineering materials and structures, with a focus on notched, welded, and 3D-printed components. He has developed several novel engineering methods for designing components (experiencing any type of stress concentration) against static, dynamic, and fatigue failures. His approach involves both theoretical and experimental investigations, with all the design methods formalised thoroughly validated through systematic experimental work. He has unique expertise in designing notched and welded components to withstand constant and variable amplitude multiaxial fatigue. He has authored over 350 publications, including 165+ peer-reviewed journal articles and a book on multiaxial fatigue.

Mulualem Gebregiorgis Gebreslassie is an Associate Professor of Energy and a Transforming Lives Fellow. He joined the Material and Engineering Research Institute in January 2024, after working for over 18 years at Mekelle University in Ethiopia. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Mekelle University (2005), a Joint Master's in Management, Engineering of Environment and Energy from UPM, EMN, and KTH (2009), and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Exeter UK (2013). Marta Mirecka is a PhD at Biomedical Research Centre in Sheffield Hallam University, with a passion for cardiovascular science, gut-brain relationship and linguistic. Knowing the therapeutic effect of exercises on heart health, and having investigated the topic of testosterone thoroughly, she believes that more research is needed to prove already existing theory, that testosterone treatment and myokines can help combat the diseases such as atherosclerosis. Apart from cardiovascular science, she is passionate about gut-brain axis, its link to mental health and immune response.
