Honest, thoughtful explorations on career and purpose
I’m actually not a lawyer (former or otherwise), but I found that doesn’t really matter. The hosts tackle universal questions: how do I fight the inertia of conventional success and find something that truly suits me? What are practical and perhaps inconvenient considerations when we pursue what we love? The hosts are smart and articulate, but don’t purport to have all the answers and I find that so refreshing — I mean, who does?

A window into the world beyond corporate life
This podcast is a beacon of light for people who feel trapped in their conventional jobs but who don’t know how to change their lives. As a reluctant lawyer, so many of the things that Annette and Sara and their guests say ring true to me. I enjoy listening especially to the participants’ stories about their paths. The hosts have a warm and familiar rapport and are refreshingly honest. I can’t wait to hear what else they have in store for us!

This podcast reminds me I am not alone!
While I have not left the law, I did leave Big Law partly as an attempt to pursue more creative pursuits. So this podcast is right up my alley! I really value hearing Sarah’s and Annette’s perspectives on leaving the law, finances, expectations and trying to be productive. They are both so open and honest and I admire their ability to be vulnerable. I am excited to keep listening as their journeys unfold!

Take a Break with This Wonderful Podcast!
Break Form is thoughtful, candid, and illuminating. Annette and Sarah regularly confront and dissect uncomfortable, universal topics, including career, family, parenthood, and success. What does it mean to be sucessful? What does happiness really, actually look like? These are difficult conversations to have, and I'm so glad they're having them.

Solid, insightful podcast
This podcast covers topics such as career, finding ones life purpose, making the most of ones day, productivity, and more. The style of conversation is informal and carries a lighthearted tone that, though it describes some of the negatives of law, balances it out with providing hope for the future and choosing a career path that is more congruent with ones interests, values, and talents. Looking forward to the upcoming episodes.

Wonderful podcast
Great podcast on the challenges of moving on from a law career (and full of fun facts, like how there is a whole cottage industry around people leaving the legal field)! Definitely related to a lot of the pressure to perform of that first year associate role, though as a physician that was residency and fellowship.

My new favorite podcast
Sarah and Annette offer an intimate, nuanced look into their journeys from the law to a life that is more in line with their values. It goes beyond the platitudes that you often encounter when seeking advice on career change or living a more authentic life. This is an honest, vulnerable, funny, and heartwarming account of women who tried something, slowly (and with difficulty) realized it wasn't for them, and are starting to define new paths. Can't wait to hear more!

Can't wait for more episodes!
I am loving this podcast. Annette and Sarah completely capture all of the feelings that I felt when I decided to leave the law. I kept finding myself saying, "Yes! Totally!" in my car when I was listening. Breaking out of the law firm life (or any other corporate job, really) comes with a lot of unknowns, and Annette and Sarah do a great job of showing people what they can expect. I can't wait to learn more about their journey, the challenges they are facing, and how they are redefining success for themselves.
