Meta's own Advertising Standards state that ads "must not encourage suicide." Yet Canada's largest assisted-dying advocacy organization spent more than $1 million on advertising in 2025—$1,013,241, according to its audited financial statements. During that same period, Meta approved 6,782 of its ads and generated $720,193 in advertising revenue from them. The documents are all public. In this episode, I put them side by side and ask the question many fact-checkers never addressed: How is any of this allowed? The answer comes down to one word—and one legal distinction. MAiD is not classified as suicide under Canadian law. It is not recorded as suicide by Health Canada, nor is it listed that way on death certificates. That distinction changes how the practice is categorized and helps explain why these advertisements are treated differently under existing policies. Also in this episode, we examine the real story behind the viral "All Is Beauty" video. The film is authentic and was produced by Canadian retailer La Maison Simons—not the government or an advocacy organization. We also revisit the story of Jennyfer Hatch, who told CTV News before her death that she felt unsupported by British Columbia's healthcare system. Finally, we follow the money. Dying With Dignity Canada's audited financial statements show the organization spent $1,013,241 on advertising in 2025—approximately 34 cents of every donated dollar—while reporting $8.76 million in reserves.Chapters
