Donna is the Founder and CEO of Defenders of Freedom. She founded the organization in September of 2004 during her involvement with the Welcome Home a Hero program at the Dallas/Ft. Worth (Texas) Airport. The program supported the Army’s Rest and Recuperation program which greeted weary Soldiers as they stepped foot on American soil for 2 weeks during their yearlong tour. It was an all volunteer initiative that Donna ended up coordinating along with the DFW Airport staff, the military personnel stationed at the airport and the North Texas Commission. She was at the airport daily for 7 years and 9 months, the duration of the program. She actively helps recruit and vet post 9/11 Veterans who need brain treatment.
