What happens when Jamaican rum meets the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection?
Bourbon expert Tom Fischer of BourbonBlog.com joins Macanudo’s Matt Wilson to taste Myers’s Rum, including its rare Signature Cask Collection expression finished in a Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye barrel.
Myers’s actually created five different BTAC-finished rums: one from barrels that previously held George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Eagle Rare 17 Year, Sazerac 18 Year Rye, and Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye.
In this podcast episode, Tom and Matt taste the Thomas H. Handy version alongside Myers’s Reserve Dark Rum, Navy Strength Rum and Legends Collection Legacy Blend #1, while talking BTAC, Jamaican rum, barrel finishing, rye whiskey and cigar pairings.
They also light up the M by Macanudo Myers’s Rum cigar and compare Macanudo Ecuadorian Shade and Sumatra.
