Better Than Ezra founding member, bassist, and multi-platinum recording artist Tommy D joins bourbon expert Tom Fischer to celebrate 30 years of Friction, Baby and 25 years of Closer—20 years after their first interview.

They look ahead to Bourbon & Beyond’s ’90s-filled Sunday: Better Than Ezra plays the 100 Proof Stage with The Verve Pipe, Tonic, Vertical Horizon, and Our Lady Peace, while Dave Matthews Band, Hootie & the Blowfish, Counting Crows, Lisa Loeb, Paula Cole, and Joan Osborne perform elsewhere at the festival.

After a nor’easter canceled the band’s Oceans Calling appearance, Tommy talks about the new song “Song of the Summer,” the Closer to the Edge tour, two May 2027 shows with the Nashville Symphony, and how a Stranger Things pinball machine sparked his New Orleans business, Pinstar NOLA. Tom also shares the bourbons he recommends Tommy try at Bourbon & Beyond.
