so interesting!!
One of my TCM school professors has for our final project given us a list of podcasts we can do our final project on and most of them are from botanical Biohacking! I got first dibs on writing about the Botanical Skin Care episode. I am excited to listen to many more, very informative and I love the stories about herbs I wish I could've taken my materia medicas in a story format!

Are you serious?!
Im so confused how you market Chinese herbal remedies and then bash anti-vaxers? To say vaccines can not cause autism is a complete joke, Im so embarrassed for you. The bashing of Dr Mercola episode was so juvenile, yall are just jealous bullies. And pretty hypocritical calling him selfish trying to make a profit when you have basically taken Po Chai pills, slapped a Botanical Biohacking label on it and increased the price by ninefold. Whats wrong with you people!

I am a holistic vet and I can't believe I only just found this podcast. It is miraculous, informative, and entertaining. The stories bring to life how the plant medicines function, and these stories are backed up with a scientific rationale for the function. I'm hooked!!!

Very Calming voice and always informational!
Love that they are constantly doing interviews and have guest speakers to support the information given. In the midst of all the chaos around us, I can truly say that the calming voice of the podcast is very helpful in bringing me back to a calm place. Thank you so much for all the information. I also love the stories and jokes!

Quiet and monotone, one sided
Tried listening to some of these episodes but it’s purely one person’s opinion. Never heard an interview or another person on this podcast show. It’s also hard to hear his monotone voice that’s recorded on a low volume setting. It’s like he’s telling a story or reading a script. There are better biohacker podcasts with more information and multiple perspectives. I’m about to to stop listening to this one. Mostly a waste of time

Relevant and wise
This team understands the our modern needs, and informs with ancient wisdom that is relevant and important for our health. I really enjoyed the story of the Huang qi cream from 2000 years ago. Wonderful reference to Zhuangzi, and his wisdom for today.

This is Real Chinese Medicine
There are too many people out there talking a good talk, but, Andrew and Lan are living the Chinese medicine way. We are fortunate enough to have them share their hands on knowledge and expertise that they learned not just in school, but, by being immersed in the real Chinese medical world. They live and work in China and share their experiences and expertise with use when they are in the US. This we did not get in TCM schools. We learned but a fraction of TCM reality. Their intelligent curiosities and desire to debunk standard beliefs and teachings about Chinese medicine in the US is not just courageous, it is desperately needed. Thank you for your perseverance, determination, and passion to overhaul the Western world's understanding and delivery of real, genuine Chinese medicine.

Is no one else uncomfortable with this?
These podcasts are really good quality and interesting. The people who make them are smart and savvy. However, I have to say I am very uncomfortable, sometimes disgusted with the emphasis placed on making high profit margins. (This I get from podcasts and the business practices that run behind them). I too think we should make a good living for the work we do, but I also think patients deserve fair treatment and should not be asked to pay markups of 900% for herbs. I have seen other practitioners who bring this up get shamed and shunned as negative money-phobic losers who want to bring down the financial viability and public respect for Chinese Medicine. This saddens me and I feel torn about listening to these podcasts. They can be delightful and inspiring at times, so I listen. So thank you for your work. Your shark-like efficiency, acumen and ruthlessness seem to me both a service to and a perversion of our profession.

West meets east perspective on Herbs
I love this podcast for helping me bridge the gap between biochemistry with herbal medicine. This podcast does a great job of respecting the history and classical perspectives and merging it with modern research. It is also a great to listen to success stories of experts on integrating TCM with modern medicine framework. It is full of interesting anectdotes, pratical recommendations, and common sensical applications of TCM herbal products and treatments in self-care and medicine.

So much exciting info!
As a student of Chinese Medicine, the Botanical Biohacking podcast is a beacon of light that offers practical information about how we might share what we are learning in school to a wider, western-medicine-integrated audience. I am especially grateful as a grower of Chinese herbs to hear more scientific detail and efforts being made on the regulation and propagation of these amazing plants. Thank you for this treasure of information!

Great Information for Everyone!
These podcasts are fantastic. Like Traditional Chinese Medicine itself, they cover all aspects of the body and one's life. On top of giving great technical information about botanicals that help with different systems or symptoms, Dr. Miles also tells stories to serve as parables for the listener to remember easier the topic of discussion and the most important focus points. While the podcast is "no-frills," in that it is typically Dr. Miles talking, with the occasional back-and-forth between him and Dr. Qiu, and some soft, soothing background music, the information is incredibly valuable and unavailable elsewhere. It's easily digested, and both Doctors are passionate about disseminating the information they're giving away. As a professional swimming coach and social worker, AND as someone with Multiple Sclerosis, I recommend this podcast to everyone looking to enhance their health in any area. There's something for everyone, including those with mental illness and those looking for athletic performance enhancement. Give the doctors a listen. You won't be sorry!!

Incredible resource
I don’t remember how I stumbled upon this podcast, but now I listen with rapt attention. The doctors open up a world of cultural information, underpinnings for living healthfully, and the intricacies of plants for lay people and for fellow practitioners. It is priceless. I’m excited by their vision of spreading the information and for the good that will come from this.

Brilliant!
This podcast is so innovative, so lovely, so life changing. It provides researched information about herbs and how it affects the body from a western perspective and there is also storytelling. I have been enjoying this as well as my patients who are trying out his highly effective herbs & footsoaks.

Wonderful
A great podcast for both health practitioners and people interested in improving their own health with the help of traditional Chinese medicine and modern bio-medicine. Andrew is an engaging raconteur with a nuanced understanding of both, an easy sense of humor, and an obvious ethical dedication to expanding the number of people who can be helped with the knowledge that is now more readily available.

Practice/Life Changing
As a recent acupuncture school graduate, I know I haven't even scratched the surface of the herbal knowledge that is needed to treat our modern population. Bridging the gap between what should be said to the everyday listener and the science that needs to be understood to use professional grade tools successfuly lives this podcast. I have begun changing my own life and health with the tips I've learned by listening (often multuple times) to this podcast, but I've also gained the confidence to start changing the lives of my patients. I'm so grateful for this podcast and for Dr. Miles, Dr. Qui and Dr. Whalen.

great podcast
really interesting podcast for anyone interested in biohacking, herbalsim, anti-aging, and health in general. I write & host a podcast myself that has nothing to do with these things, but as I myself am a health obsessed biohacker who uses jing herbs on a daily basis, I find this podcast so interesting. And they're both a wealth of knowledge about many of these herbs as well as their histories.

Elaboration on Techniques Not Covered In Acupuncture School
Fascinating discussion between two individuals concerning the historical basis, methods, contraindications, and uses for herbal foot soaks. A great introduction to a topic that is not usually covered in Acupuncture School. Great work!

Acupunk herbal Nurse
I've been practicing as a registered nurse since 2004 and have recently decided to change paths to become an acupuncturist/herbalist. Although the Masters program I am in has the title 'Integrative Medicine' it has been very tricky to connect the links between Herbal Chinese Medicine and the modern understanding of human physiology. It has been so enriching to listen to these conversations about the applications of ancient traditional methods for today's health problems and diagnoses. I look forward to hearing more stories about Chinese history and culture and the application of ancient formulas and hopefully winning a trip to China to see where and how many of the herbs are cultivated and prepared ;)

Please keep up this good work!
As traditional Asian medicines becomes more entangled in the very different medical paradigm of the West, it is important to be able to adapt. It is important to understand from a modern perspective why these ancient medicinals work, while honoring and holding dear the body of wisdom that is already available to us as Chinese medicine practitioners. That being said, it often feels like practitioners in this field in the US are fending for ourselves in his regard. Most of us to not speak or read the language(s) fluently, so we can be at a loss when it comes to reading and interpreting research. That is where this podcast is shining a beacon into all of our lives. I feel like I am peering into a window that I have never been tall enough to look inside before when I listen. Thank you for putting this material together, and putting it out there. It is no small feat, and obviously reflects collective decades of experience and relationship building in China. I am honored to listen.
