We both started this boss Up visual media platform to help small business owners, actors. Coaches and just individuals that are just seeking to find a new pathway and earn an extra income. 00:34But we also wanted the boss of visual platform to also be not only informative but to also be fun as well. So we wanted to add our Classic movie breakdown where we come on, um, every so often and we break down the classic movies. So last week, the movie that we talked about was how Stella, got her groove back and we kind of gave the plot story and I wanted to break down this week, waiting to Exhale. 01:08Waiting to Exhale was published 1995 and it is one of those classic movies of all time for women. The story plot behind waiting to Exhale. It had a powerful. Soundtrack as well. That women just fell in love with Um, Terry McMillan's, who was the producer for waiting to Exhale? 01:33He measured. Is readers and its vivid descriptions of what a black woman once in her life. And how hard it is to find it. So women loved it because men were not so thrilled because a friend of mine suggested that the male version of waiting to Exhale will be much shorter. 01:55What I'm looking for a woman and someone Who's great in bed and then turns into a six-pack and pizza. This is, of course exactly the problem. The women in waiting to Exhale are tired of being treated as disposable Commodities by men who will tell them anything before sex. And have nothing to say afterwards. 02:17So as the movie version it opens up. Um broadcast executive Savannah Whitney Houston who um who was Whitney Houston? She's driving from Denver where they are. Apparently Um there where there are apparently no men worth having To Phoenix where she hopes there are so soon, she's playing hostess in her new home. 02:41To a merry man who has been saying for years. He's about to leave his wife, right? So also in Phoenix are her three good girlfriends Bernadine, which is played by Angela Bassett, whose husband is about to leave her for his white secretary, Gloria Loretta Devine, who has centered her life around her son. 03:05Putting on pounds in the meantime and then also Robin which is Layla Rochan Is a successful business woman, but not in love. So during the course of waiting to Exhale, all these women will either find what they're looking for or learn to look for something better and they'll do it with dialogue wardrobes, you know. 03:28Settings. So, these are not really, you know, real women so much as fictional creations of um carefully designed to embody the dreams and desires of real life. So many of the women in the audience will be happy to be like any of these women man? Or no, man. So, The casting list. 03:52It includes a lot of men who pop up and disappear. Like Ducks in a shooting gallery. Savannah may also have Kenneth who plays um Dennis Hayes birthplace Kenneth in her life. He flies in several times a year. Telling Suave lies to her. To his wife, I mean, on the phone while promising, Savannah that he's going to divorce him eventually. 04:21But Bernadine. Has worked for years and her husband's business only to have him leave her for his secretary. The only woman. I ever love Bernadine goes ballistic throwing his clothes into his gar and send it on fire. Would it be better if she were black? Her husband asked. No, it will be better if you were black. 04:45So that was one of the classic story lines of waiting to Exhale. And you know, the other part where she said, get your shit, get your shit and get out. That was one of my favorites. So, Later on in the film. In the touches sequence, she finds a soul, mate. 05:04And a man whose wife is dying. The actor who is not. Build in the credits will be a pleasant...
