Manisha Koirala is one of India's leading film actors. She was born into a prominent royal Koirala family in Nepal. Khamoshi: The Musical, Dil Se, Mann, Lajja, Company and many others. Manisha Korala took a break from acting in 2012 and returned five years later with the coming-of-age drama Dear Maya, Netflix's Lust Stories and Sanju. In addition to working in Hindi films, she has also worked in Nepali and English films. She’s known for her work in both commercial and independent cinema. Manisha Kooirala is the recipient of several awards including 4 Filmfare awards. In 2001, the Government of Nepal awarded her with the Order of Gorkha Dakshina Bahu award. On 29 November 2012, media news reported that Koirala had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She flew to USA for treatments and surgery. She’s now cancer free and a proud survivor. After winning the fight against cancer, she is actively involved in spreading awareness about the disease. In 2022, she wrote a book titled Healed: How Cancer Gave Me a New Life.
