He was also known as Puncham and was most sought out music director and singer from late 60’s , 1970’until end of 1980’s. He composed music for some of the most successful films in Hindi cinema and worked with some of the biggest singing stars from Indian cinema. He was referred to as "trend setter" in Hindi film music.
