Amazing
This podcast always makes me feel better and I find all of the discussions really empowering and comforting. I read the book “Body Kindness” and loved it and highly recommend to anyone struggling with issues around self esteem, self criticism, and body image.

This is awful
What a lot of rubbish! How self-congratulatory these two are...this podcast is for anyone who wants to listen to two people talk about how great they are. No substance (although a lot of talk about 'stay with us til the end!'). I will never trust The New York Times reviews again

Amazing mindset change
I just love Rebecca I just started this podcast and literally started at the beginning with episode 1 and fell in love with her! I have started changing my mindset with food and even with the way I look at my body! Love having Bernie’s input and experience as well! Keep up the great work!

Helpful and informative
I am listening to the Diabetes Care episodes with Glenys Oysten (love her!!) right now, and it is so nice to have clear and professional guidance that is not focused on weight loss and fear-mongering. I love the focus on impactful actions and behaviors which are within my control. This approach is so much more effective than well-meaning people beating that old shame drum of ‘lose weight lose weight lose weight’. It didn’t work for 42 years of trying. Let’s move on to what does!! Thank you Rebecca and Glenys!

This feel good podcast is a must listen!
I love how feel good and authentic Rebecca is on her show. I especially loved the soundbite of her breaking scales on the "How to Cope with Your Emotions" episode, made me laugh so hard! Rebecca's podcast makes me feel like I'm hanging out with a really knowledgable friend.

Practical, informative and empowering 💪
Body Kindness has quickly become one of my go-to podcasts - I appreciate the variety of episodes, the super practical takeaways and sincerity that Rebecca pours into every guest. Beyond grateful for the impact Rebecca’s had on thousands of lives and her generosity in sharing a lifetime's worth of knowledge here... for free :)

Body Kindness and Rebecca is just a must
Way to go Rebecca. Love the episode topics and content! So beneficial for the anti-diet, IE, and HAES movement, and how we need to abolish weight-stigma. Keep up the great work!

Awesome Information
Every single person in the world needs to change their thinking on eating. We have been doing diets way too long and it has us living with a deprived mind and it has hurt our lives. I’m starting to practice IE and I feel so much freer. If ppl would just read the statistics on the facts that diets make everything in our lives worse and do not work, that would make them change from diets to intuitive eating. Thank you for doing this podcast.

Podcast 119 - Fearing the Black Body: Part 1
An engaging conversation with Dr. Sabrina Strings about her book, Fearing the Black Body. Found her back story compelling as it helped ground her future scholarship on black women’s place or lack thereof in health and wellness. Glad to discover the Body Kindness podcast by happy accident!

Very Thought-Provoking Podcast!
The host is very courageous and willingly dives deep, and into uncharted waters, about weight and fat shaming. She connects the dots in a way few in the health space are willing to do. Highly recommend if you are you looking for a paradigm shift in health, weight, and the culture surrounding the entire subject!

LISTEN.
A really illuminating show that begins to dig deep into the societal and systemic pressures and expectations around the body. A podcast for everyone, but if you are a woman, you should especially listen to this!

Helpful and informative
I am a regular listener. Scritchfield is open and honest in discussing her past eating issues. Her pleasant voice and upbeat tone help keep the listeners' interest. She has lots of experts with interesting and helpful information on the show. Unfortunately, most episodes are a good 15 min longer than they need to be. The opening ads and commentary are too long. Summarizing the interviews beforehand is redundant and unnecessary. The explanation of how she learned about the expert is often unnecessary. Instead a short intro where Scritchfield describes the topic, teases some interesting insights, and briefly tells of the impact the expert or his/her work has had on her would be great. During the interviews, Scritchfield often talks over her guests, put words in their mouths, and focuses on her own experiences. I wonder why there are so many long, detailed questions with short answers from the interviewees, instead of short open-ended questions that allow the guests to elaborate with ideas, insight, and examples. Perhaps Scritchfield will consider a monologue or solo segment where she can tell her own ideas and experience to listeners. I like the episodes with Bernie Salazar; although, at times they can be slow. I find his perspective helpful and his honesty endearing. It's a great complement to Scritchfield's professional, non-Hispanic female perspective. Please keep up the good work, Mrs. Scritchfield. I am sure with each new episode you can continue to improve the show, making it even more the go-to for education, insight, and encouragement in building and maintaining a healthy relationship with food and self.

Deep gratitude for the message and tools I receive
I’m so thankful for the way you teach, love and give to us through this podcast. I feel a renewed sense of power and access to my own agency after listening to the episode with Steven Hayes. It’s my dream to work with you further and learn more in my own journey of liberation! Can’t wait to see how that can be possible!

Outstanding Resource!
Thank you for the real conversations about things that matter to me as a mom, a woman, and a wife. This is an excellent resource for those of us who have battled disordered eating in our past and want to change the pattern with our kids and with those we come into contact with. #gratefullistener

One of the best podcasts out there
And absolute must for anyone interested in HAES, competent/intuitive eating, and true well-being. I’m a huge fan of the show. Rebecca has a huge range of diverse speakers whose discussions lead to great insight all served with an upbeat positive attitude. No matter the subject, I’m always smiling at the end of a podcast. You will not be disappointed!!

Changing my life
Rebecca’s post cast might be the most important tool in my recovery. I have read the books HAES, Intuitive Eating, and practice these mindsets actively, and of course Rebecca’s book, Body Kindness, but there is something so supportive and nurturing about having her podcast in the background of my day as I go about life. Thank you thank you Rebecca!

Positive Life Change
I found this podcast on a random day when I decided I needed additional support on top of my therapy as a sexual assault survivor. I didn’t know what to expect from Rebecca’s podcasts, so I kept an open mind hoping to shed some light on my own struggle of self-love, appreciation, and binge eating disorder. I quickly fell in routine to listening to the podcast first thing in the morning because of the positivity it added to my days. I am nearing the 2017 podcasts and am so grateful for Rebecca and all her guests and topics. She has helped open the door to body positivity and I can’t thank her enough. Not all days are easy, and without her encouragement, I wouldn’t be able to say it’s ok to have bad days! Thank you again Becca! You are helping for many people and creating a world of positivity! ❤️❤️

So helpful
I just got into HAES, read the book and then also found the BOdy Kindness book which I bought. There is so much wonderful information in both books and the podcasts are incredibly helpful in giving examples and stories to which I can relate. I am a 71 y.o. woman who dieted/restricted/over-exercized since age 18. I quit "dieting" 10 years ago because they only caused more weight gain in the long run (and funny thing, I was dnever heavy to begin with--go figure). I have since tried to concentrate on healthy habits and these podcasts are a perfect reinforcement for that. Thank you so much!

Love body kindness!
I love this podcast so much. It’s wonderful to hear about so many different ways to be compassionate with your body. As someone healing from anorexia, I am especially grateful to learn kindness instead of self loathing. It’s a journey and I am grateful to be on it with Rebecca, Bernie and so many others!

Rebecca + Bernie = Pure GOLD 💫
I love the dynamic between Rebecca and Bernie. They both come across as very genuine. Rebecca keeps it real and I love her ability to call out diet culture when she notices it. Bernie is such a gentleman who is easy to root for. Together they are gold!

Body kindness in eating disorder recovery
This podcast doesn’t directly address ED’s, but there are so many good nuggets that, as someone who is in recovery from a 15 year battle with an eating disorder, can benefit from. Body image is such a tough battle for anyone, and learning to be kind to your body and not treat it with hatred is one of the longest journeys in ED recovery. Thankful for the truth and encouragement found through this podcast!

When Bernie said “chubby comrades” I really felt that
This show is exactly what I need in this time of institutional attack on bodily autonomy in America (especially for those with uteruses). I’m out here fighting with my comrades but it’s hard and draining and I spiral down sometimes. Enter Rebecca Scritchfield. I heard her on Jaclyn Friedman’s podcast Unscrewed and I was hooked. Loving yourself and being kind and compassionate to yourself as the paradigm for viewing your body shouldn’t be so revolutionary but it is , and Rebecca (and Bernie!) are effing revolutionaries!!

Important conversations
I love the conversations Rebecca and her guests are having about how to raise kids to have a healthy relationship with eating, movement, and body image in this world that’s so full of weight stigma and fat hatred.

Rebecca is amazing
I am continuously surprised by the high quality of this podcast. Rebecca is very well-informed and passionate about this topic. Her interviews are genuine and respectful. You can tell really admires the people she interviews and is really familiar with their work. She truly makes an effort to incorporate diverse aspects of body kindness such as the intersection with dis/ability, race, class, etc. Thank you Rebecca for your amazing work!!

So inspirational!
I stumbled upon this podcast somewhat randomly and I couldn’t be more grateful that I did. Sometimes resources just seem to come to you at the perfect time. I remember being “on a diet” all the way back when I was in elementary school. I was never very big, but I was bigger than my friends and I always felt self conscious. The years went on and it only got worse. Even today, at age 24, I am still battling this feeling of never feeling good enough and feeling less worthy as my weight goes up. I eat healthier and take better care of myself than most people my age, yet I still struggle with my weight. It has caused many tears for me over the years and caused me to miss out on many things because I feel too embarrassed about the way I look. I am starting to finally give up on the diet thing. I realize how unsustainable it is and how damaging it is to my well being. This podcast has already helped me so much in just a few weeks. I replay some of the episodes over and over. This is quite a personal review, but I just think people need to know how powerful it is to be able to tune in and listen to someone who wants to help you love your body as it is instead of someone who wants to help you change it. It’s inspiring and entertaining and I am also about to start the book as soon as I get a chance. I couldn’t recommend this more! I also love the website and blog. So many wonderful resources!

Not enough substance
While I am enjoying Rebecca’s book Body Kindness, and I appreciate her work, I found the chatty, conversational style did not keep my attention. There were a few guests who have the very annoying habit of ending statements with a questioning lilt , as though they were teenaged girls. It was unlistenable for me.

Love this podcast!
I recently bought the Body Kindness book, and though I’m only at the beginning I have been able to listen to the podcast and am enjoying it so much. As a person who has struggled with binge eating disorder and gained/lost 100 pounds I am always “sharpening” the thought process of being kinder to my body. Thank you for this!
