Look, we all have our guilty pleasures, and for me, it’s romance novels, movies, and media. I know many of them are problematic; with outdated views on sex, race, class, and gender roles but the ritual of reading/watching them and sharing with friends is hard to give up. In comes Bodice Rippers. Danielle and Kim are funny, smart, and seem to genuinely enjoy talking about romance fiction. It feels like I’m just hanging out with friends chatting about the stuff we find interesting. As a proud feminist myself I love the perspective and insight they bring, highlighting the shortcomings of romance media. They're funny and educational without it feeling preachy. That's hard to find in a podcast! Check 'em out.
