About The Record: “American Soul” the song, was inspired by a Jeff Deist Facebook post awhile back. Deist ripped Bono of U2 for some ridiculous things he said about Americans and politics in a Rolling Stone interview. It references U2’s song “American Soul” and all of their hits, ridicules Bono for his hypocrisy and disingenuousness, and identifies liberty as the true “American Soul.” It’s the spirit of “Sweet Home Alabama” (slamming Neil Young) but more in the style of Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone.”  Here’s the lyric video: https://youtu.be/UAlVbEJIm68  I decided to call the album “American Soul” because the album is about liberty.
