Facebook's Libra, Bitcoin and Lightning, Dash Payments, EOS Governance, and DeFi
Facebook's Libra has been under scrutiny by US regulators and many are wondering if it will even launch, and if it does, what it will look like. Bitcoin continues to be the king of crypto, rallying before cooling down and dropping back below $10k. Lightning apps are becoming more user friendly with approachable, cheap, and fast payments on the horizon. Dash is laser focused on payments and may become a full-featured competitor for everyday payments. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) continues to make significant progress on the Etheruem network, offering simple and high yield lending solutions. Finally, EOS is running into serious governance, centralization, and voting issues that are discussed in depth. Bitcoin, Lightning, EOS June 1st, DeFi, Globalcoin, Tesla, and Inflation
As the price of bitcoin continues to rise, fees also are increasing and the conversation of scaling will become more and more prominent. In this bull run adoption of lightning will become necessary, or users will shift to other projects. EOS will be announcing new projects and a development roadmap for Block.one come June 1st. Depending on the announcement, it could drive the broader market higher, but more likely, it will either push EOS higher due to excitement or pull it lower as speculators sellout post announcement (buy the rumor, sell the news). The tooling for Decentralized Finance (DeFi) continues to grow on the Ethereum network. MakerDAO, Dharma, and Compound are briefly discussed. In a future a video walkthrough will be posted, so be sure to subscribe on YouTube. Tesla’s current market position and business outlook are briefly discussed. Tesla has been under pressure with lackluster demand, talks of restructuring, and skepticism on their robotaxi promise for 2020. Finally, we discuss the broader economy including recent increases in inflation and the structure of the yield curve.

Bitcoin Price, Portfolio Strategy, and Bitcoin Block Reward Halvening
This past week bitcoin fluctuated between $6800 and $8400, before retracing back to $7400. If the $7000 mark holds we may see a period of sideways consolidation before a major move higher or lower. Strategies for building a crypto portfolio are discussed as it relates to smart contract platforms, cryptocurrencies, privacy coins, utility tokens, and general concepts concerning diversification and risk management. Finally, in 2020 we will see the next bitcoin block reward halvening and there is much speculation on what impact this will have in price. As a sanity check, we put this change into perspective and temper expectations.
