Black Table Talk
Black Table Talk
Darrell Duke
A Podcast that discusses issues important to black people, those issues that we speak about among friends and family at the dining room table, but rarely talk about in public. Things we talk about in the beauty salon and the barbershop. Also, the things we should talk about [money, investment, religion, mental health, Africa, politics], but don't. We invite our African brothers in Africa to join the conversation. A Podcast that will allow us to reunite with our African brothers and sisters. Black People, It's Your Time
This episode is an attempt to shrug at the heart strings of black America. It's time for truth and reconciliation. I love my people and it's time we were compensated for services rendered, lives and property lost, as well as the murders of millions of African Americans in America. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support

Black America We've Been Bamboozled
The United States condemns Russia, North Korea and China for their human rights abuses, but says absolutely about the racist inhumane treatment of black and brown people in America.   This is a human rights issue, a world issue, and the world is on our side.  We must take advantage of this now to receive the reparations we deserve.  The human rights of black and brown people are being violated everyday.  This is why we must it to the United Nations and demand our rights as human beings.  America must formally apologize for slavery and attempt to repair the damage!  Black people have endured legal discrimination, disenfranchisement, inequalities in health care and violent incidents of police brutality.  The United States government is both complicit with and responsible for this genocidal situation.  Black people in America have suffered from genocide as the result of the consistent, conscious, unified policies of every branch of American government.  The government has endorsed racism and monopoly capitalism.  Violent white supremacy is the core of American culture.  We have tried to appeal to the conscious of America, time and time again, marching and protesting until we can march and protest no more, but America's material greed, hate, fear and racism only allows violence against black people to continue.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support

The World is With U.S. {Thank you George Floyd)
People of many nations are standing in solidarity with "US," Germany, Britain, Spain, Canada, Turkey, Brazil, Syria, Australia, Greece, France, Italy, Africa, Japan and Mexico are all holding protest and marching against black oppression in the United States.  The evidence is clear and convincing, law and law enforcement in the United States owes black people restitution for the pain and suffering endured at the hands of law enforcement agents.  The very first law enforcement agents in this country were "Overseers and Constables" tasked with overseeing the indentured white slaves as well as Indian and African slaves.  Black Codes or laws were instituted to punish African slaves for looking a White Person in the eye, talking back to a White Person or for not disobeying a "White Person."  Africans, Indians, or Asians could not testify in court against a White Person.  This meant that no matter how egregious the offense against an African, Indian or Asian there was no repercussions for whites.  History has documented slavery, Jim Crow, Convict Leasing and Red Lining.  White backlash is real, every time black folks try to pull themselves up by their bootstraps white folks come along and destroy everything [Black Wall Street near Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rosewood, etc...].  It's time to take the United States before the United Nations on charges of human rights abuses.  Put America on trial in front of the world and let the world decide.  Everyone has received reparations, slave owners, Indians, Jewish survivors of the Holocoust and even poor white European immigrants, but not African Americans.  Yet we can give a trillion dollars as a stimulus package for COVID 19.  Five hundred million is just a drop in the bucket, but is what I propose as a settlement agreement.  It's time for reparations so that we can finally have an economic floor upon which to stand.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support

Domestic Violence in the Black Community
Anything that affects Americans in a negative way disproportionately has an even more negative effect on Black people.  Unemployment, incarceration, healthcare, housing, homelessness, COVID 19 or domestic violence they all have a more devastating effect on the black community.    --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support

George Floyd Murdered by Police / Call to Action
This is not a call for revenge, payback, retribution or a vigilante squad.  This is a call to act in a manner prudent to saving the lives of black men, women and children.  In no way am I advocating violence except in self-defense.  We must stop just video taping police murdering our loved ones and start making citizen's arrest.  A police officer committing these types of crimes is no longer a Policeman, but is impersonating a law enforcement agent and should be dealt with accordingly.  Making a citizen's arrest in this particular instance without considering the risk factors may have serious consequences for you and others involved.  You may have to touch the individual or seize his/her firearm to detain them.  Your personal safety and that of others could be compromised by attempting an arrest.  You will need to have witnessed and videotaped the criminal conduct.  Tell the individual you are placing them under citizen's arrest [on video if possible] and hold them until police arrive.  Ask for his/her cooperation until other police arrive.  Do not question or search the subject.  This is my "Call to Action" for black men.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support

Black Wealth Building
We must start talking to each other and our children about investment and money management.  Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela realized how much a strong black economy meant.  There are a whole lot of illusions about black people in the world, but understand that Africa has always been the prize.  There are billions of Africans to include African Americans on earth.  So why are we buying products from other folks.  Who has programmed us to believe that we can't produce and build wealth?  Who has made us believe we can't invest?  Who has made us believe that we can't start successful businesses.  Always remember this, nothing that ever came out of Europeans or Europe was meant to do anything but facilitate European domination of the world. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support

Black Mental Health: The Real Pandemic
Mental health is a serious problem in America today.  A true pandemic is a disease so prevalent within a country that everyone in that country knows someone that has the disease or knows someone who knows someone that has the disease.  Now I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone that has the Corona Virus or anyone that knows someone that has the virus.  This is amazing being that I work with the most at risk individuals for the Corona Virus [people experiencing homelessness].  However, everyone reading this or listening to this episode of Black Table Talk, and probably everyone in America knows someone with a mental disorder {ADHD, ADD, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, an Eating Disorder, Substance Abuse, Bipolar Disorder, schizophrenia etc ...].  If you don't know someone with a mental disorder you most certainly know someone who knows someone who has a mental disorder.   Let's stop ignoring the real pandemic and deal with it head on. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darrell-duke/support
