I adore the concept and many of the episodes. Personally, I think there is slightly more 80s and 90s TV/movie culture than I care about even though I was born into that era.

I love this podcast. I am so happy when a new one comes out - Tony rocks . I like the short and sweet format , and I also sometimes wish the episodes were longer because they are so enjoyable. There are fun facts and cool bops to enjoy, my favorite episodes have been the ones about figures from the 50’s and 60’s, I feel like I’ve gained a better understanding of the life my grandparents experienced in their youth. It is strange ! Also I would like to record an album now.

Tony, as he says in the intro, isn’t making fun of these albums, but celebrating them. With clips of the songs and as much background as he can find, one gets a good sense of what is happening on the record even if sometimes the why is lost to the ages. If you are a music obsessive or enjoy sonic cul-du-sacs, this is for you.

Each episode is entertaining, informative and so much fun. Tony talks about the albums and artists with no snark, and just delivers a fascinating and well researched piece. The episodes are short, but that’s ok since I finish each episode with a list of things to Google or check out on YouTube that could take me down a rabbit hole for hours. Happy 100th episode!

I love this show, but one thing i always wonder.. why do the episodes need to be around 20 minutes..? I’d honestly listen to an hour+ of this guy run through his research, it’s odd the episodes seem to be restricted in length.

Well researched and treats the subjects with respect. Rather than make fun of an album, it contextualizes them and explains them. Love it! Highly recommended

If you’re anything like me and love going down Wikipedia wormholes, learning about bands or songs then this podcast shout appeal to you. Tony delves much deeper finding many new and unusal facts about these unique albums and artists. Equal parts entertaining and informative!

Tony gets straight to the point every time. Each episode is all killer, no filler, which is kind of rare for podcasts that focus on odd or obscure trivia. I’ve learned and been amazed in every episode.

I’ve been listening to Bizarre Albums since it’s inception, and even though it was always enjoyable and entertaining, it continues to get even better with each installment. Stop reading this review and just go listen already!

Each episode quickly draws listeners into the most interesting aspects of rare or kitschy albums. The show touches on the obvious then quickly goes to a next-level story about the people who made, used or consumed the recordings. BTW: that ends up including you, the listener! The best part is Tony: he sounds like a genuinely nice guy, with excellent self control (for knowing all this super cool history) and real under the radar home-run quips and puns. I’d give two thumbs up but am busy pressing play on the next episode ;) 👍

Every episode is jam packed with interesting information that I (almost always) never knew before. Tony is a great host and I always learn something from each episode.

Tony Thaxton is the man! Each week he brings you bizarrely interesting fact packed 20 minutes on albums that make you hmmmmm? Once I heard one episode I was hooked and had to go back and listen to them all. I think I tore through 36 episodes in two days and I can’t wait to listen to them all again. Do yourself a favor and get on board!

When I first subscribed, I cherry picked the episodes that sounded the most interesting to me to listen to first, but I soon discovered that EVERY episode kept me engaged from start to finish. It’s like Tony knows exactly which totally random trivia my brain craves. Highly recommended!!

I don't know much about music or music history. Normally, stuff like this isn't very appealing to me but I really like this show.

I especially enjoyed the Van Morrison episode. I’d love to hear more episodes like this about real albums that aren’t TV tie-ins. Keep up the great work.
