So real and informational. It’s changed my perspective on so many topics

I’ve been following them for years now and I love how real, honest, and direct they are. They break down current events in a way that really helps me understand it BUT it also helps me think through it from different perspectives. Plus they are both such a vibe lol

These two are hilarious and typically don’t hold back, which I love. So glad to see a season 2!!

I really love their topics and I think they have insightful opinions. I just have a really hard time with Cassandra’s accent, I’m sorry! Its hard to listen to all the pauses and the nonstop “like”.

Been a fan since 2019. Dope podcast. So happy to have found it! I wasn't able to find too many LATINX podcasts pre-2019 that I vibed with. This one has stayed a favorite.

Not my jam I guess. I have similar opinions and points of view as the hosts but it just feels like an echo chamber. They favor cynical and cyclical agreement with one another over substantial discussion of the topics.

The audio quality is APPALLING you can hear every bit of spit hit the mic like come on buy a spit screen, also they make several unsubstantiated claims against trump and several other politicians.

Ruben and Cassandra have made a podcast that has made me cry, laugh, angry, and overall feel safe. BBF is like my safety line for sanity when I feel like my worldview is isolated and otherized. This podcast allows me to feel the despair from everything and transform it into a realistic hope by outlining how we can organize and educate one another to create a better world.

I had never been an avid listener of podcasts because I couldn’t find that many that peaked my interest until I saw a Latina on Instagram listing her fave podcasts and Brown Bitter Femmes was the one that stood out to me the most. The first time I listened I fell in love with Ruben & Cassandras humor, sarcasm, & politics. They are a dynamic duo that compliment each other so well & from that first listen I kept thinking wow I never thought I’d get to hear such relatable voices in the podcast world. It’s nice to listen to people who care so much about the same things you do & who make you feel less alone. ❤️

Found them on Instagram through another person as they provided additional commentary on a tweet concerning the low standards society has for men relative to the menaces of society (male rapists, abusers, murderers, etc). I loved it from then, they spoke unfiltered truth- about patriarchy and other plaguing facets of Western society-something we need today and the days to come.

Truly, these two feel like my mentors from afar. I have never come across a podcast that is so perfectly aligned to my personal life; from our similar queer, Latinx, borderland experiences to a shared obsession with My Chem and Gerard Way to an intense desire to fight anti-Black/Indigenous violence and unlearn problematic Chicano narratives. I’ve learned to be a become a better listener and I understand that development and learning never truly stops. I’ve been tuning in for the past couple of years and I’m never disappointed when I listen in. When I say this podcast and its hosts changed my life for the better, I really really mean it. To Ruben and Cassandra: THANK YOU for your work, I promise you two that it’s greatly appreciated and I owe a LOT of my personal growth to this podcast and I’ve also been introduced to tons and tons of different activists through your work! To anyone deciding whether or not to start listening: DO IT. But be willing to listen, learn, and probably UNLEARN a lot of things. I promise you won’t regret it!

This is my favorite podcast! Through Cassandra and Rubén I’ve been able to unlearn a lot of problematic crap and I’ve also learned a lot in order to not be another problematic Latinx woman out here. I feel like I’m on a phone convo with my friends because they make me laugh so much but they also check me like my friends would. Keep doing the good work - y’all are awesome! 💕

I’ve been following activist pages for years now. Everytime I listen to what Ruben and Cassandra have to say I learn something new and resonate with it at the same time. We may think we already know everything there is to know but there’s always a new way to grow and this podcast aides me in that journey. Thank you two! ❤️

Both Rueben and Cassandra are truly people who follow through on what they are saying. I’ve been listening/reading their work for like 2 years now and have finally (ashamed of how long it take to me) paid up and became a Patreon. They are folks who do the ground work, the research and the inner work in order to speak to the topics they talk about. They are real, transparent in their learning, and honestly gracing us with their courage to share so vulnerably!!

By far my favorite podcast. Ruben and Cassandra make me laugh so much (and internally cry). Their podcast is insightful and entertaining. I love them.

I do not always agree with Ruben and Cassandra BUT this is still a highly enjoyable podcast that gives me a good perspective that differed from mine and keeps my on my toes.

I love BBF! Cassandra and Rubén produce great episodes filled with insightful content and provide a starting point for us to become more self-aware and challenge the existing systems of oppression, as well as critiquing today’s figures in media. Listening to their podcast makes me feel like I’m having a discussion with the cool cousins who make the family parties more enjoyable. 🙌🏽

This podcast is my absolute favorite podcast. Cassandra and Ruben give beautifully articulated dialogue on multiple topics that relate to latinx issues. I’ve always had feelings and thoughts that I couldn’t put into words. Listening to this podcast has helped me gain language to effectively communicate what I’ve felt for so many years. It has also helped me view the world in a more critical way. Some episodes made me uncomfortable, which I greatly appreciate it. I’ve been following Ruben and Cassandra for a while, since high school and I am now twenty one. It’s been nice to see how they’ve grown and this podcast just shows how talented they are. Cassandra and Rubén are two cool people who care about their peers, community, and loved ones. They will tell you on what’s going on in the world but make some hilarious jokes.
