10 Things I Wish I Knew Prior To Starting My Fitness Journey
There are SO many things that I wish I knew prior to starting my fitness journey. I now resonate more with the word "wellness" rather than "fitness" as it brings a more holistic approach. Physical fitness is still a part of my life; however, it is a much smaller part of my life now that I focus on ALL aspects of health (mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, etc.) As a certified personal trainer, I still am passionate about movement and fitness though and that is why I want to share the top 10 things that I wish I knew and that I have learned through my own experiences so that hopefully, you don't have to learn the hard way (like I did.) Here are a few examples: - A longer workout does not equal a "better" workout. - Scale weight is NOT a good indicator of progress in a training program. - There is no such thing as “toning” your muscles. - You don’t need a meal plan or count calories/macros. You need to make sure you are eating enough.  - Supplements aren’t as necessary as they may seem.
