Ed’s a great host with a kind voice and gentle demeanor. His guests are sometimes good, often great, and listening in feels like eavesdropping on fellow birders in a diner after a day out birding. Just a reliable good show that I never miss and you’ll enjoy it too!

I enjoy listening to other birders talk about birding. I get some good ideas to improve my hobby by listening to the show. The host does an excellent job. Regarding the question about organizing photos in the recent Dennis Paulson episode, I would recommend Lightroom Classic (used on a pc or laptop). I have used it since version 1.0 in 2007 and never had issues. Once you keyword photos, they can be searched in a second. You can also do advanced searches such as find all warblers between April and May. Lightroom also has plugins available that do more advanced data recovery and analysis. Cost is about $10 per month, subscription. There are other good programs such as Capture One, but I’d go with the most common program that is likely to be around in ten years. LR also does great photo editing: crop, modify hi-lites, shadows, exposure, noise, and sharpness. There is almost no need to ever use photoshop. I currently have about 200,000 photos in my main catalog.

This is my favorite of the birding podcasts because of its relaxing vibe and that the host and guests live up to its tagline of “birders talk birding.” I’m always looking for ideas for new places and ways to bird. Thanks and keep it up!

I really enjoy these podcasts. They are diverse, educational and fun to listen to. As a new birder I’m learning that there are so many aspects and specialities to take into consideration. That there is no one way to go about this adventure. It’s somewhat intimidating to have so much to learn all at once. I’ve learned that anyone can do this and I will, in time, find my own niche. It turns out to be the perfect hobby during a pandemic. I enjoy the new locations, books and training the guests bring to the table. Ed does a great job guiding the conversations and wrapping it up with lots of additional information and formats to find more insight into each guest. Thanks Ed, Well done, keep recording. MBurns54

Dr. Pullen is a knowledgeable, dedicated and persistent birder! His record keeping/recording of his birds is second to none. The podcasts are well done and interesting.

Dr. Ed is calming and joyful. I like to listen to his podcasts with my grandmother on walks. His enthusiasm about birding is infectious. His stories about birding are my favorite.

World traveler, Ed Pullen, is a wealth of information regarding not only the birds he sees, but also the land and the people in each area that he birds. It’s clear from his anecdotes that he is passionate about the topic of birding, and the people he gets to share his birding experiences with.

I am inspired and enjoy becoming an amateur naturalist through the gateway of birding.

The host Dr Ed Pullen has a calming voice that is akin to the tone you when if you're birdwatching and you see a rare bird. I never consciously was “bird watching” before this podcast and now I have grown familiar to the scrub jays, the mocking birds, and woodpeckers in my area—on occasion identifying herons! Bird Banter has a consistent upload schedule and gives a peak into Ed’s life that among other things sparks an interest to the details of nature, more specifically the birds that we would otherwise miss if we didn’t stop to look around.

I enjoy listening to Ed’s bird banter podcast. He has a relaxing presentation of interesting bird topics and birder guests.

Ed’s interview style is very relaxed, and his podcast feels very conversational as a result. His content is most appropriate for birdwatchers, but his guests are entertaining enough to hold the attention of most general nature enthusiasts.

I was delighted to listen to the first two podcasts by Ed Pullen talking about how he and guest Ken Brown first got involved with birding. Stories invoked many familiar names from birding in the Pacific Northwest, especially with Tahoma Audubon. Pleasantly surprised by the professional sound quality. Look forward to hearing more.
