i have been a proud binchie and resident of binchtopia since 2021. this is such a wonderful podcast and community. julia & eliza & nick are hilarious and also very informative. so many binchtopiaisms are now common parlance among me and my friends. 10/10 🌟

100/10 podcast

Hiya trans MtF here, I was recommended this podcast I thought I would be fun and quirky, so I started ep 1 but then within the first 20 minutes they really leaned hard into man-hating to the point were I feel like I was being talked down to. I know they didn’t mean anything by it saying they aren’t man-haters but then immediate contradict the statement with “men’s taste are all terrible” so honestly I don’t know what to think and I wanna drop this podcast asap.

Absolutely adore and have learned so much from this podcast, however i have recommended this show to three separate people and all of them said they couldn't get past the cold opens (i have to tell them to skip to the 40 minute mark which also leaves them skeptical when they learn the cold open is that long). I think their strength lies in the nuanced yet humorous deep dive in each episode, and their weakness is the rather shallow and dragging pop culture-related cold opens that takes up entirely too much time considering much of what is said about the pop culture event of the week is actually not offering any new take or perspective compared to what youve already seen online. If you're also skeptical about this show please skip ahead to when they actually get into the topic of the day!

These gals and all guests are so funny! They have such a silly sense of humor but actually in a legit funny way and they are smart! Duh I won’t agree 100% with everything but I respect their opinions and I think they are great at choosing themes. I’m a long time podcast listener and came across them through a tik tok comment and I have listened to most of the episodes. Some pods make me cringe or are things I listen to because I don’t have anything else to listen to but this pod I get excited when a new episode comes out and listen right away. Yay!!

one of them… I guess I’m picky. There’s only 3 podcasts that I have continually listened to for more than a year and this is one of them. I am obsessed and I’ll listen to anything Julia & Eliza have to say. I have learned so much and I’m usually laughing/crying along the way. I will never get bored. seriously how hard is it to talk about a genocide that’s happening in real-time on a podcast that regularly covers current events/politics?

As the title says!

I’ve been listening since 2021 and initially found their vague gestures to sociology, politics, psychology, etc interesting, but eventually it became clear that they are only comfortable/willing to discuss the systems of oppression that affect them directly as two white, educated, well-off cis women. If you fall into that category, you may enjoy and feel seen by this podcast, but otherwise you will feel deeply alienated as they devote multiple episodes to the crisis in Ukraine and antisemitism but fail to meaningfully attend to the systems of oppression they directly benefit from (anti-Blackness, genocides in P@lest!ne Sudan and the Congo, etc). I’m not certain what the point of their platform is anymore—if you want to hear meaningful and informed commentary, I would seek podcasts featuring actual experts/scholars on topics of interest rather than two people who do a few hours of googling before turning their mics on.

I am honestly just sad about the lack of commentary about Palestine. It is very very clear what that means at this point. There is not a lack of political or social commentary on this podcast at all. There is a lack of one single political issue. If you ladies covered Ukraine, there’s no reason you can’t talk about Palestine.

I’ve listened to many episodes of this show, and sometimes their stories are funny, but in terms of content there’s really no originality. their takes are mostly recycled from you’re wrong about or maintenance phase, where I presume most of their inspiration is drawn? they sometimes just talk to each other, a la red scare, but they’re not as interesting. the show is fine, sure, but in terms of education it’s unoriginal and in terms of salaciousness it completely falls flat. much better content elsewhere.

I’ve been a binchie for a couple years and I’m a sweet baby angel on Patreon but like what happened to the pod??? Every ep is mailbox or Reddit and none of the brilliant well researched eps that I subscribed for. I miss when you binchies would go off with a well researched and interesting topic and now it feel like this is just another social media podcast that just reads Reddit and fan questions. I miss the old pod and I’m a tiny bit salty that I subbed to Patreon for this :,)

This is literally the best podcast ever. My roommates insisted that I listened to binchtopia as I am not a very avid podcast user but when I started I could not stop. I will catch myself cackling out loud in the middle of work when I sneakily have one AirPod in listening to my besties or out in public laughing forgetting my surroundings. The pod gets so deep but also keeps the vibes up at all times! Literally has added so much to my life especially my new lingo, personality, and voice🔥🔥🔥🔥

Having a podcast that covers such a wide range of topics, and completely ignoring the ongoing genocide occurring in Palestine is abhorrent. The only time they mentioned Palestine in the last few months was to say “it’s too complicated” but the entire premise of this podcast is supposedly to thoroughly investigate and analyze current issues with humor and care. The Palestinian occupation is related to all colonial projects, you simply cannot ignore it. This isn’t a leftist podcast it’s white feminism, which is just white supremacy in disguise.

i was a paid subscriber for almost 3 years. i loved this pod and the community, but it in the last few months i have found myself disillusioned and decided to unsubscribe. it doesn't seem like Eliza or Julia are concerned with using this platform for any more than 30 seconds to raise awareness about the genocide in Palestine. they claimed the issue was too complicated to do an episode on or have any guests on to speak about. it's strange how they've just ignored the comments and reviews as if this is some bad PR that will blow over. i'm on the same internet as you the last few months. i can't imagine not using your platform even a little more than you did.

What was once a well research yet lighthearted and genuine show has pivoted to regurgitating Wikipedia pages. Hosts do not take feedback and now talk down to the audience. Worth listening to the old episodes but the new episode offer nothing new to any conversation.

This was the only pod i was subscribed to on Patreon. Their silence on the war on Palestinians is so upsetting. I check every week to see if they release an ep with some sort of discussion

i have been with the binchies since the beginning! i hoped the podcast would retain its humor and wit as it grew, but that has not been the case. eliza in particular is insufferable and out-of-touch. it seems like she can only complain. where episodes were previously well-researched and topics examined from many perspectives, the show now lacks the character, depth, and vitality i first loved. for all the talk of “this is our full-time job!” it seems now more than ever their priorities are elsewhere.

kind of wild to build a reputation on socially conscious and nuanced analyses while ignoring a genocide for over three months with hardly a passing acknowledgement. dismissing an ongoing genocide as “too complicated” to unpack is ridiculously irresponsible and disappointing. it’s easy to retrospectively analyze social issues but failing to acknowledge current ones with shareable action items shows a lack of moral courage and integrity. do better

all the one star reviews are sad. these girlies are awesome, they’re able to educate people while being so entertaining. by far, my favorite podcast ever and they don’t deserve so much hate for not commenting on one issue. they’re people too, they’re not perfect, they have the right to not say something if they feel that’s necessary. let’s just appreciate all the awesome things they do, instead of focusing on being negative and bringing down the rating of the podcast that they’ve worked so hard on!!!!

I wanted to like this podcast, but it’s very “upper-middle class girls who have never had jobs decide to go to grad school to delay adulthood but only halfway do the readings.” This was recommended to me as a leftist feminist podcast, but the hosts don’t seem to have anything substantive to say about left politics or feminism beyond surface-level readings of pop culture? I would recommend this show to a very young person trying to get into seeming smart.

This podcast used to be the highlight of my week! But the quality of the episodes has gone down severely, and they’re silent on Palestine. White feminism always wins I guess 😀👎🏼

Long time listener, so its sad to write this but building a platform on leftist takes & then staying silent on one of the most significant conflicts is shameful. The girlies got richer & turned into the libs they used to criticize. Quality of eps has severely decreased this year too. Sorry binchies, hope you get well soon.
