This podcast is a great resource that is very well put together. It is obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into the production, research, and selection of guests. This is a great resource for anybody with even an interest in multilingual education.

I’ve been looking for a great way to evaluate how effective competing language programs are. Positive attitude about anything is a key step to it being a success. Time investment also is a main factor. 200 hours of instruction over the year is a nice benchmark to shoot for.

Teaching children more than English is so incredibly important. I have already recommended this podcast to friends who have a bilingual home with small children. I suggest any parent who want their children to be fluent in other languages, start with subscribing to this show.

Okay, so I never spoke Spanish fluently. But I did use it quite a bit when my dad (and therefore, me and my mom) were transferred to Mexico City from the U.S. for his job, and I had to live down there for a time as a child. But I can see things from the other perspective - as an American who spoke English "at home" in Mexico, but spoke Español in public. This podcast is an even-handed, balanced, and very informative show dealing with all things bilingual. I can see it being a great resource for anyone gong through whatever type of situation when it comes to having to communicate in two languages. And Marianna is a gentle and friendly host. Terrific job!

My family is bilingual. My sister is an ESL (English as a second language). There are many advantages of knowing two languages. This is a well produced show with good sound.

Marianna has done a great job of bringing the educational needs of raising bilingual children to the forefront. A valuable resource for those in need of help and understanding.

Bilingual Avenue is a valuable source of useful information. The podcast encourages parents and grandparents (like me) to take an active role in the bilingual development of those beloved little family members who will become participants of the multicultural world we live in. The host does a great job too; I like the fact that the guests feel comfortable sharing the best of their experience and knowledge which allows the listeners to learn in layman's terms the skills and techniques suggested by them.

Its strength is in the variety of interviews featured--Marianna has a knack for finding truly informed researchers and inspiring parents to shed light on the challenge of raising bilingual children. I appreciate the information and I look forward to hearing many more episodes!

My brother in law is bi-lingual. He was born in Finland and lives here in the US. My sister and him are trying to raise their children speaking Polish and English. This was a fun podcast that helped me learn more bout how to teach and raise bilingual children.

I am a Chinese American and growing up I was embarrassed to speak Chinese at school or to even be affiliated with my heritage because I wanted to fit in. It's a terrible thing because as I frayed away from speaking Chinese the more distant I became from my own heritage. Great work with this podcast and embracing where we come from.
