Omg, do you just LOVE Bette Midler? WHO CARES! You’ve seen a Bette Midler movie. Everyone has. At LEAST one. Or you’ve performed a Bette Midler song (such as Wind Beneath My Wings) as a cobbled-together choir in middle school in the early 90s. But WAIT! That’s not the important part! You’ll show up for nostalgia, get hooked by the deep dives and nerdgasms about movies you know you should’ve watched (but haven’t yet), but in the end you’ll stay for the friendly, witty chemistry between our two hosts. Bette, yet again, just gets to be the cherry on top.

I enjoyed listening to this first episode a great deal. I have every confidence this won’t be a Ryan Murphy-type situation with just a really strong and engaging pilot and then it’s all downhill after that. Lots of fun to hear Bradley’s Bette Midler Conspiracy theory as well as the funny way they use a few bloopers and post-episode overdubs to clarify points (“Hello, Bradley from the future here.”). I giggled all the way through this episode and I look forward to me from the future giggling along with subsequent episodes. And you know what? You DO got to have friends.
