Dr. Michael Hill, world renowned Stroke researcher at uCalgary, joined us this week to talk about one of his most iconic trials, ESCAPE. This trial was the Canadian effort of the HERMES Collaboration to show that Endovascular Therapy (EVT) is an effective treatment method for ischemic strokes. This trial was a profound success, with results showing a 50% reduction in mortality rates. We then discussed the promising results of ESCAPE-NA1 & Dr. Hill gave us a sneak peak as to what he has planned next!
