A new school year and many transitions bring an awareness for scoliosis patients that life with scoliosis can be challenging. It is challenging. In fact, let’s not sugar coat it – life with scoliosis is exhausting at times. Sometimes the only way to handle the overwhelm is through tears. In this special episode, Dr. Mandy Dietz gives you permission to feel your emotions and let’s you know that you’re not alone.
Remember this when life with scoliosis is exhausting:
* At some point, every patient and family dealing with scoliosis feels this way. A breaking point comes for everyone, and it’s okay.
* You can’t separate your emotions from your scoliosis care – they are all intertwined.

The biggest question we get from parents is this: Will my insurance cover this scoliosis care, and do you even take insurance? In this episode, Dr. Mandy takes some time to explain why many chiropractors don’t take insurance, and what kind of solutions are available for patients at every price point – including how a scoliosis brace might be covered by your insurance.
Insurance and Scoliosis Care Things to Keep in Mind from this episode:
* Your initial investment for a consultation is minimal if your insurance doesn’t cover it.
* There could be options to get a brace covered by your insurance plan; however, you must be committed to following the care plan and protocols so that we can use the medical documentation and progress reports from your care plan to appeal for coverage.
* Something is always better than nothing. Ask yourself: what are you willing to pay for a better quality of life for your child or yourself?
