This is a really good podcast, except for one problem: the commercials are so loud, you’re never gonna sleep. and they all seem to be either political or for casinos, neither of which I care about.

But the ads are terrible! I got used to the AI narration, but the ads are just dumped into the narration mid sentence. An ad-free option would be a big improvement.

Unfortunately content fine….but no way can this podcast be construed as a sleep aid …..commercials mid content destroy that….move ads to beginning and then maybe….

The CONTENT of this show is fantastic. It takes genuinely complex subject matter and breaks it down into its constituent parts, and then puts everything back together in a way that brings the larger concept full circle. Unfortunately, far too many of the reviews here seem fixated on the occasional, minuscule glitches in the AI narration rather than the actual quality of the content. Yes, every once in awhile an esoteric word gets mispronounced. If that’s enough to make you dismiss an otherwise exceptional podcast, you may be so utterly lost in your neurosis over pronunciation that you’ve stopped offering a useful critique of the show itself. The irony is that the content is extraordinarily good and the AI delivery is extremely human-like. I’d much rather hear a fascinating, deeply researched explanation with the occasional awkward pronunciation than flawless human delivery of something shallow, sputtery in concept, and uninteresting. BOTTOM LINE: Expect a word here or there to be mispronounced. Get over it. And when a commercial plays, simply turn down the volume like every other human has had to do during loud commercials since the 1980s. In exchange, you’ll gain access to a world of fascinating, complex, material presented in an unusually clear and compelling way. This is an incredible podcast and its current rating says more about people’s hangups (and possibly why much of society is intolerant to LEARNING anything) than it does about the quality of the show.

Would be really awesome if the presenters were real astronomers or scientists getting rewarded with notoriety or even better some money for their expertise rather than AI avatars reading off AI generated script. “Red SuPerrGant” instead of Red Super Giant is kind of jarring.

Absolutely do not recommend when listening to when trying to relax/snooze. The commercials are ultra loud.

The human researched content is great but the AI voices can be sloppy. The woman once said “Saturn’s wings” instead of Saturn’s rings. Fix that and I think it’ll be a better product in the end.

Narrated by an AI voice that hasn’t managed to claw its way out of the uncanny valley.

How can this possibly be for bedtime? A loud, obnoxious ad comes on every couple minutes. It functions better as alarm clock than a cozy sleep aide.

The dialogue sounds unnatural is full of mispronunciations.

I want to give this show five stars but giving it only two due to the high-energy ads that kick in mid-sentence at twice the normal volume. Would gladly pay for a premium ad-free version.

Excellent podcast Makes highly complex cutting edge cosmology easily understandable. This is described by the producers as human generated content delivered by AI voices. I recorded 100s of voice over talent over 20 years but this fooled me at first. Synthesized voice has gotten quite good. I must admit that I can’t object to the final result. Pacing is good with minimal advertising and duration seems determined by topic and not arbitrary. Closing with :90 seconds of space music is bold and brilliant format choice.

This show is amazing! But…. It’s really hard to listen to it at bedtime with commercials that are so loud and boisterous! Please choose calmer advertisements <3

Sloppy, glitchy AI voices, no sources cited to check the facts. Go spend your precious listening time elsewhere with Ologies, The Supermassive Podcast, Airspace, or so many other good pods produced and created by real people. Leave the slop.

Loud disruptive commercials

The AI narrators are kind of creepy. And they mispronounce basic astronomical terms like Type I-a supernovae. Lessens the overall credibility.

It’s garbage AI and it’s obvious. Pick a podcast that supports talent.

Very interesting topics and educational. I listen often before bed to help distract my mind from daily dramas. However, I like the older ones are better. The new hosts talk too fast and too loud for bedtime and relaxing. If the goal is to relax before bed, the calm slow voice is much better

Far better uses for AI. Counter productive to use for podcast. Just record it.

Interesting topics but if you’re actually trying to use this to sleep be aware there’s annoying ads in the middle. Bad idea for a bedtime podcast.

I guess. But the writing and voice need work. Also it’s just as annoying as the articles it gleaned its info from. Over use of adverbs and hyperbolic words. Many better options.
