INCREDIBLE!!!
What an absolutely incredible piece of work! Season 1 was incredible & not a drop off at all for season 2. Incredible journalism at its finest!

Have Loved Both Seasons, But…
Very misleading and distasteful in Season 2 to give the impression that Rabia Chaudry got Adnan Syed’s conviction overturned for his heinous murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Syed remains convicted of first-degree murder among other offenses. You should have made that crystal clear. Hae Min Lee and her family deserve better.

From great to good
Season 1 is excellent, but unfortunately Season 2 is just too slow and stretched out. S2 would’ve been much more compelling if shortened by about two episodes worth of time. When you’re putting the inane banter of a carload of podcasters into an actual episode, I’m sorry but you’re in need of an editor! And apologizing for “getting meta” doesn’t excuse it. That’s valuable time that should’ve been spent looking into the odds of there being not just one false confession in a given case, but two (as with this one).

Amazing show!!
This podcast was assigned to me for class, and I turned out to love it and be totally invested! I loved the twists and turns! Mr Moon does a great job at using all of these rhetorical questions and strategies to keep me wanting more. Thank you!!

Unpopular opinion!
It seems like I may be the only one with this opinion but this was so incredibly long and borderline boring for no reason, listened to all of Season 2 for 8 hours and I feel like Casefile could have told the entire story in 3 hours max. The content was interesting overall the pace is sooooo slow!

This is podcast is amazing
This was the first “true crime” podcast I ever listened to, and it totally changed my life. The investigation and journalism is so incredible and I think about this case all the time. The story telling is exquisite and the team are extremely respectful to the victims& families. Literally the gold standard for true crime podcasts. Wish NHPR did more

Enjoying this podcast!
This is a comment. I believe Jason’s mother did as much as anyone to bully him into a possible false confession. It is puzzling.

Oh wow!
Season 1 is excellent! I listened to it until 3am! I also liked the lack of multiple ads, thank you. Onto Season 2…keep up the good work.

Captivating
Jason Moon does a deep dive into his cases, taking his time to give you a picture of the victims, the families and interweaves a beautiful story that captivates his listeners. He has my attention for anything else he creates

Best of the Best
I rarely listen to a series twice. I go back to Bear Brook again and again. Have recommended it friends and family across the pond as well. If it hadn’t won awards, it should. It’s a fundamental.

Riveting story, superbly told
I was looking for a really good series to get sucked into and this was exactly the right one. This fascinating true story is told so well. I was glued to every word and could not wait for the next episode. Jason's voice is easy to listen to for hours. I cannot wait to start season 2. Keep making more seasons please!!

Riveting! Amazing Work and Production
I usually listen to podcasts when I go to bed, but I have not been able to turn this off! The production is amazing. It’s like you’re there ride along side the team. So much so that I can’t get that description of the barrel out of my mind. What a horrifying story and unbelievable case. Kudos not only to law enforcement for never giving up even after decades, but to the super sleuth citizens out there who just would not let it go and ultimately uncovered the details that to lead finally identifying the poor victims. What a heartbreaking story.

More than just a true crime podcast. The science of genetic genealogy is fascinating and the connection it provides to all of us is astounding.

Jason Moon did an absolute great job telling the story of Bear Brook and now we finally have a happy ending to a little girl and her family who had no name until now. We hope to hear her mom is found as well!

I know I’m late, but this was an instant hook. I couldn’t stop listening, and couldn’t get enough. The details and connects are amazing, I keep rewinding to re-listen because it’s all explained so well and i need to hear it again.

Amazing!
Amazing podcast, excellently researched and presented! Are y’all going to add another episode now that Jane Allenstown Doe 2000 (Terry’s daughter) has been identified?

Bear Brooke season 2
Podcasts that are truly interesting, well produced are so hard to find… Bear Brooke is one of the few greats! host is amazing, quality of sound is clear and so vivid/real and story line is so well-written!! It’s the kind of great podcast that you hate to see come to an end. Drove from FL to NC replaying each episode to absorb every word. I wish there were 20 more like this podcast!!! Can’t help but feel strongly about the story… like Jason’s mother- what an awful person!! It’s horrible!

Season 3???
5 Stars

Slow telling but interesting
Jason Moon's storytelling is exceptional, but I must express my astonishment at how a parent could betray their child, as the mother did in this case. Listening to the events unfold was infuriating, and it made me hesitant to continue. However, once I accepted that the parent was a failure and likely didn't love their child as they should have, I was able to come to terms with their despicable actions and resumed listening to the podcast.

Very nice podcast. Loved both seasons!

Lots of good content, format is exhausting
Reallly wanted to like this podcast, but there are some issues I just can’t get past. Super long dead air segments, kept thinking my feed cut out. Insistence on referring to a police officer by a cute nickname. Host attempts to justify skipping back and forth on the timeline, which is an ok tool occasionally, but way overused to dizzying effect. The whole story line is so drawn out, the entire season could have been cut in half. Very, very repetitive. Info is decent if you can hang in there and not glaze over.

Both Seasons are amazing. Shows how messed up our justice system is and how much needs to change.

Every single true crime podcast should be reporting right now on Trump’s plans to put citizens in concentration camps in El Salvador

So captivating.
This is my favorite true crime podcast I've ever listened to. I'm so glad I took the time to listen to it. It's a podcast that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's amazing what Jason and the team of people that helped this investigation have accomplished.

so, SOOO, many twists
This podcast has a lot of twists, and sometimes there’s a transition to another idea or case that ties back to the case in ways you’d NEVER imagine. 10/10, 5/5 stars.

Amazing Podcast
Captured so many emotions. Every time I hear the mothers taped part I just bawl my eyes. How could she hang her son out to dry. She was a cop and she knew better. She knew cops cant make promises. And yet she chose not only not to protect him but sell him like a lamb to the slaughter. I would never speak to her again if I were Jason. She doesn’t deserve the right to be called a mother even after all these years. Like I said SHE LNEW BETTER! My heart aches listening to it everytime. I am disgusted. This. Podcast is so well done. I think its important for all of us to hear trials like this so we know what to look for if we ever get called for jury duty.

My First Podcast
I had never heard of these murders and a friend just told me about it. The story popped up in my feed and I was curious. It exceeded my expectations. Fascinating story, well edited and executed.

Bear Brook 2 - Thorough Right Down to the Music
At this point in writing I have one more episode to go. Jason’s music is as thoughtful and compelling as the case itself. I’ve chosen to write now because I am so concerned about the almost separate story of the evidence box. I now need the whole chronology of that box, and how/why it was considered such a “fluke” that it existed and was found. Why wasn’t it foremost in the minds of all of Jason’s lawyers from Day One? Were they lied to re: its existence? I look forward to more answers in next episode. Let my concern testify how enthralling this podcast is—the inexplicable coincidence of amazing timing. My real question being WHY was that box such a lost mystery in the first place? Even if it’s simple neglect, back when DNA testing was not as crucial as now, why would that not have been pursued by Jason’s lawyers immediately. They knew it had to exist. They could have gone straight to forensics, right? Where was the glitch in this whole process that could possibly have saved years/decades in furthering Jason’s case?
