Today Suzi is joined by friend, People Operations at Merging Vets and Players and military spouse, Lisa Parameter to talk about being your own person and creating the life you deserve.
As a military spouse for more than 20 years, Lisa utilized every skill in her playbook to navigate the many adventures and wide array of cultures living in numerous locations across the country and overseas. Her relentless drive to contribute at both her work and in her community required her to continually upskill and transform to compete in regional labor markets. She values her paid professional work and her volunteer experiences equally knowing both contributed to environments of improved social and economic prosperity.
In the workplace, Lisa has held a variety of business roles to include marketing, sales, operations, human resources, finance & accounting, eCommerce, and information technology. In 2017, she blended this diverse background into the creation of Call Sign Coffee Company, a bootstrapped venture that has grown from a simple idea into a scaled operation with a dozen products and multiple customer segments. In addition to meeting the needs of individual consumers with great coffee, Call Sign provides financial and in-kind support to veteran service organizations and military family focused non-profits. As a result, in 2019, the company gained national recognition and Lisa received the first of its kind Military Spouse Entrepreneur Impact Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Hiring Our Heroes program. Additionally, Call Sign was featured in the U.S. Chamber’s Small Business Quarterly Index, Q3 of 2019.
