Can Sin Be My Identity with guest: R.C. Sproul Jr.
Many Christians struggle in the Christian life as it relates to their past sins prior to conversion following them into their Christian walk. Additionally, many Christians believe that when they repent they must continue to "act" or "live" a certain way that demonstrates they still feel guilty over their sin. This is when sin becomes the identity for so many individuals as they allow the past sin to dominate their current walk. When we sin we feel guilty over our sin, but that is meant to lead us to repentance. Upon repentance, we move on, because Christ has forgiven us, and we should fight against returning back to that sin. However, we must not allow that sin that we have confessed and repented of to come back to dictate our thoughts and actions. In this episode, I am joined by theologian R.C. Sproul as we discuss this issue that many are dealing with. In this episode, I reference one of R.C.'s blog articles that gave us the subject in dealing with this topic which you can find here. Do We Need Parachurch Organizations?
The question we will be answering in this podcast is, do we need parachurch organizations? If so, to what end? What is the purpose of these entities and when if at all should local churches use them? Additionally, we look at the conferences some of these organizations and ask the question are they beneficial or detrimental specifically, with some of the speakers they platform. Many of these orginizations such as The Gospel Coalition start out doctrinally sound; however, several of the speakers they platform have questionable theological beliefs. We will highlight one such speaker Ann Voskamp with a brief review of her book "One Thousand Gifts" and the theological errors and false teaching that is baked within. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/battlefieldtheologian/support

What To Look For In A Church/ Pastor
In this podcast Ethan answers several questions concerning what to look for in a church, what makes a church healthy, and what to look for in a pastor. This is a question many have asked, and it seems as though it is increasingly becoming difficult to find a church that prioritizes expositional preaching. The source for the majority of this podcast comes from the Expositor publication put out by Steven Lawson's One Passion Ministries. If you would like more information concerning what is expository preaching, check out the website linked above. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/battlefieldtheologian/support

Westminster Shorter Catechism For Families
I created this for families to use to help teach their children the essential truths of Scripture. Listen to this as you drive, work around the house, or turn it on for your children at bedtime. A question I often receive is, "Why should we memorize or use the shorter catechism in discipleship?" First, the Shorter Catechism gives us categories with which to understand Christian doctrine. False teaching abounds in this world. As children grow up and face challenges to their faith in college, few things will prepare them as well as a simple knowledge of the Catechism. Second, the Catechism focuses on content. We live in an age in which doctrine is frowned upon and experience exalted. This misplaced emphasis has cut the church loose from its moorings in Scripture. The Catechism reminds us that our beliefs should shape our attitudes and actions, and not vice-versa. Third, the Catechism is radically God-centered. From the very first answer, which says that “man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever,” the Catechism focuses our eyes on God. It consistently teaches that the Christian life is a God-centered life. Fourth, the Shorter Catechism challenges parents and children to grow together in their understanding of God’s Word. Is it sometimes hard to discuss spiritual things within your family? Few things promote this better than learning the Catechism! Even though children might not fully understand the meaning of everything they memorize, it challenges them to grow in their knowledge and gives parents the opportunity to explain biblical truth to their children. The answer for why the catechism is taken from William Beveridge's article found here. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/battlefieldtheologian/support

Unveiling Ideological Subversion: Exploring Cultural Marxism's Subtle Influences in American Christianity
Have you ever asked yourself why we do certain non-Scriptural practices at church? Such as different events and ministry priorities?   In a world where spirituality and ideology are often intertwined, we bravely ask how Cultural Marxism has crept into our religious organizations, influencing our views on morality and the truth. What effects do these subtle impacts have on how we pray, understand the Bible, and interact with the world?   "Unveiling Ideological Subversion" encourages thoughtful conversations about the shifting religious landscape, from the reinterpretation of traditional doctrines to the influence of social justice movements on the Gospel message.   In this episode, I refer to an article from former KGB spy Yuri Bezmenov (also known as Tomas Schuman) in the mid-1980s.   You can find the article here. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/battlefieldtheologian/support

Should Women Teach Theology? A Conversation with Dale Partridge
In this podcast, Ethan Jago interviews Dale Partridge on his recently published podcast titled “Should Women Teach Theology?” If you haven’t listened to that podcast, I encourage you to listen to it first for further clarity concerning the items Ethan & Dale discuss.    In this podcast, Ethan and Dale define their different views on the role of women. Ethan a complementarian, and Dale biblical patriarchy. This episode is not arguing for or against either of these two views. The focus of this podcast is for additional clarification on the practical application and what women are allowed to learn, teach, and do within the church. The focus primarily centers around answering the question, can women teach theology to other women?    Depending on your views, Dale & Ethan encourage everyone to search Scripture and use it in the proper hermeneutical framework and application.    To listen to Dale’s podcast that we are referring to, you can listen here:   Part 1   Part 2 Part 3 To visit Dale and his ministry of Relearn. Should Women Be Allowed To Preach?
Unless you are living under a rock, there is a tremendous amount of controversy within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) concerning this issue. The SBC meets June 13-14, 2023, and one of the resolutions proposed by Tom Ascol you can read here. It is regarding the office of the pastor/elder and if women are able, according to Scripture fulfill this office. The question is not about ability, but it is biblical. In this episode, I unpack the necessary systematics and hermeneutical understanding to arrive at a biblical answer concerning this question. There have been many who have written and addressed this subject far superior to myself; however, I have had several of the members at my church 5 Bridges in Panama City Beach as me to wade into the water to assist them in how to process all of the information. I pray this helps bring some form of clarity or helps you process several items concerning interpreting the Bible. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/battlefieldtheologian/support

The Warrior Mindset- Navy Seal Garrett Unclebach
What is a warrior mindset? Do you have one? How do you get one? What does the Bible outline for men regarding this? This is a critical question to ask because when men saturate themselves in the Word of God this will create and instill in them a mindset to that of a warrior which is desperately needed in our crooked generation and culture. Defining biblical manhood is not difficult, yet so many men struggle to find their identity, purpose, mission, and calling in life. As men, we must not what our mission is and pursue after Christ and live a holy life. However, there are some practical items that must be addressed in defining what this looks like. In this episode, Garrett and Ethan discuss several verses for consideration and implementation in our life and real-world scenarios from SEAL training, deployments, and leadership philosophy defined and influenced by and from Scripture, not the culture. We discuss the warrior mindset and leadership in three different categories. 1. In your own life 2. In your family life 3.
