A lot of convo a little info
The knowledge gained from each episode can basically be summarized in two sentences all the while wasting twenty minutes to hear two people giggle.

Amazing intro to CS concepts!
The hosts have an amazing way of breaking down the fundamentals of computer science so that they are easy to understand. Also they are downright hilarious and so personable! Keep up the great work, we so appreciate it!

great great great, keep it coming
the hosts do a great job of explaining the concepts and providing context and asking counter-questions appropriate for a newbie, suggested sources to learn more about each topic would be great

I'm already putting the knowledge to use
I have been listening to a lot of episodes lately and last night I was stuck on a problem where I was losing track of browser timeouts I had set. I heard the hosts in the back of my head saying "you need a queue!" I implemented the queue and the problem was solved. Thanks Saron and Vaidehi!

Trying hard to like Season 3!
I devoured Seasons 1 and 2. Learned a lot and loved immensely! However, Season 3 is really losing my confidence. The tree traversal episodes are hard to follow given the structure of the episodes, or the lack thereof. I find myself wondering about the real life examples and implications of the topic. This combined with the conbined with the constant banters and jokes, I am having a hard time understanding the topic. I find it a bit disruptive.

So happy Season two is as funny and illuminating as season one.
These two have such perfect radio chemistry that anyone can just sit back and enjoy the podcast. It’s only at the end when you realize you just learned and still remember a bunch of cool concepts. Loving it.
Hello Rocket
Fantastic!
I love this podcast! It has been extremely helpful along my computer science path.

No longer jealous of CS majors
This podcast is great! I just recently became a fan of coding and I’m on my journey towards becoming a developer. While there are many resources for learning the practical side of “how to code”, I found very little information on the theoretical side of Computer Science. BaseCS is just what I was looking for and at just the right time!

Great show
I love the easy introduction to the concepts.

Great job!
You ladies are fun to listen to and talk about some helpful info. Thank you! 👍🏽

Encoding episode full of errors
The way you describe encoding and Unicode is completely wrong. Just for example, the real em dash character is a Unicode character. The reason that you type it for HTML purposes with an ampersand has to do with pre-Unicode (ASCII) problems. There are a lot of really good things about this podcast, but presenting beginners with factually incorrect information is not going to do anybody any favors. Please get subject matter experts to fact check your conversations before you publish them.

Great way to learn!
The BaseCS podcast is a phenomenal teacher! I just caught up on all the episodes and I already can't wait for the next season!

Love this podcast
I love this podcast, the lighthearted, intelligent and down-to-earth approach makes previously terrifying computer science topics fun to learn. I say “previously” because the computer science topics presented by Saron and Vaidehi are not terrifying after you listen to this podcast. Their upbeat enthusiasm and humor they bring is contagious.

Excellent, I love the way Vaidehi and Saron explain these concepts.
I've been a software developer for almost five years now and absolutely love the way they explain some of these concepts (from simple to complicated). The way they explained how hex codes are arranged in two base-16 character-pairs because the 256 permutations allowed by that combination perfectly matches a byte's base-2 256 permutations (2 to the 8th power) was fantastic. Can't wait to check out even more episodes!

A great way to review Computer Science data structures and concepts
Really fun, accessible and applicable podcast for any developers wanting to learn, or review CS concepts, and in particular, data structures.

Big O
Huge props for the big o episode. That was one of the first times as a jr dev I felt like this is exactly how I needed big O broken down. Keep up the great work, very important stuff.

Computer science in byte-sized chunks
Vaidehi and Saron are funny and relatable, but their content is what distinguishes them from the rest of the tech podcast pack. They’ve put in the work to break down complex topics and find analogies that make them approachable. They are so good at taking abstract ideas from computer science and making them understandable and relevant that the only thing that you will find to disappoint here is that the podcast is new and there are currently only 8 episodes.

Great intro to CS!
I started a programming bootcamp recently but have wanted to learn a lot more about computer science - not just programming. This has been a great place to start! Also, make sure to check out the blog posts on Medium. Super helpful.

Refreshing, accessible for the CS newbie & not so newbie
Great CS podcast clear, simple explanation of one small byte at a time. The fact that there is also an accompanying blog for each show is great!

I love this podcast.
I have been teaching myself to code for the last year and I really don't know anyting about computer science. This has really helped and is making it much easier to understand more about it. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

I FINALLY GET IT!!!!!!!
I can count in binary!!! Not only that but I understand why it is important for computing. The best part is that now I understand all those computer geek jokes ;) Thank you for making this content so accessible. Can't wait for the next episode!

Excellent way to explain binary
I got to listen to the podcast when I got home on my phone ;) I can't wait for the continuation of coverting decimal to binary. I'm ecstatic, looking forward to listen to the next topic. The review didn't go through on my phone 11/9/17

Excellent!
This podcast is excellent! I love the question and answer format. Vaidehi and Saron sound excited to understand and share these concepts in a way that is very digestible. I’ve already learned so much and can’t wait for more!

One of a kind resource for learning CS basics
Have only listened to episode 1 so far but I’m thrilled that this podcast and blog exist for newbies/self-taught coders like me struggling with computer science concepts. Thank you Vaidehi and Saron!

Such a great podcast!
Fantastic podcast by charismatic and entertaining hosts! It is helping me fill in the CS knowledge that I missed since I entered this industry from a non-CS degree. Keep it up!

Very promising podcast!
The podcasters took the concept of bits and bytes and taught it in a concise, easy to understand, way. This podcast has the potential to be an awesome resource for people learning computer science.

Really great listen for code newbies
I’ve read most of the basecs series on Medium. It’s super approachable and informative at the same time. Just finished listening to the first podcast in the series, and it’s fantastic. Highly recommend!

Trying to find a longer route to work
This is a great listen, I've been working in software for 10 years, skipped a lot of this stuff growing up. Really great to listen now and get a refresher.

Fabulous!
This is a great new podcast with two women talking about CS basics. I had learned some of these concepts a long time ago but don’t think all of it stuck well. I find it easy to relate to and I can listen to it when I’m tired of looking at the computer screen. Keep it up and looking forward to the next episode! (Wonder what the encoding of my review is? 👩‍💻)

Everything I never knew I needed
I went to a dev bootcamp a few years ago, but never got a comp sci degree. It all looked too complex and unknowable and honestly, I'm lazy. BUT NOW... I binged the first two episodes and cant wait for more. Thank you for putting this together, Vaidehi and Saron! Maybe I'll learn some computer science after all!
lazy dev
Fun and excellent explanations of concepts
I’ve listened to the first two episodes and they both had really great and beginner-friendly explanations of concepts and the conversation was fun to listen to. It’s always great to have people explain concepts in ways that make them feel simple instead of impenetrable. Especially in tech, wish more were like this.

If you code, or want to, you need this podcast
This podcast is a great for self-taught and code school devs. Vaidehi and Saron do a great job of covering concepts in an accessible way and with zero pretension. But don't pass this by if you've been programming for a while or have a CS degree. You're still going to learn something. Even if you're all up to speed on the current episode's topic, you'll learn some new techniques or approaches for teaching that topic to other people.

Great quality!
it doesn't sound like two people are talking on the phone as is the case for other podcasts

Badly needed, hugely welcomed
There is almost no podcast that covers C.S. topic in completely audio form. This also has great production quality, which makes it just so much nicer to listen to. I'm excited this podcast exist and can't wait for more episodes.

The best computer science podcast out there!
This is seriously the best podcast to learn about computer science fundamentals. It's two awesome people talking through the basics together, and I learned so much just from listening to them!

This is great and entertaining
This is such a great topic, covered piece by piece, and such a pair of hosts. Love it.

Can't get enough comp sci in my life
Joyful! The hosts' banter gives me life and enthusiasm to grapple with the complex abstractions of computer science. Even when I grasp a concept already, I am socking away the metaphors for when I want to communicate what I do to others. I am grateful for these women's hard work to cultivate a wholesome community for newbies. Excellent audio production on top of it all. What are you waiting for? Subscribe and learn!
