thank you willy joy

Love this podcast and the guests that he has on!

Unfortunately this is the only podcast of its kind where you can listen to edm musicians but unfortunately this host speaks too much and really doesn’t have a real pov or personality. He agrees with everything his guests say even when they call him out in contradicting himself. Count the # times he says absolutely, 100%, sure or right. Edm artists are also generally not that interesting, petty and are unilateral - anyone with diverse opinions is shunned and it’s hard to listen to them whine on Twitter.

Willy is good at relating to his guests' experiences, industry knowledge, etc., but his frequent interruptions feel unwarranted and, at times, rude. I'm not listening to this podcast to hear Willy RELATE to superstar DJs — I'm here to hear superstar DJs tell their stories. He's an excellent conversationalist, and has every right to chime in, but I wish he did it more sparingly. My two cents: reflect on the conversation AFTERWORDS rather than comment on every other sentence. The guests are interesting enough to keep us coming back to the podcast, and their interesting "story arcs" are too frequently derailed. Willy, if you read this, I'm sure you have a cool story, too, but I'd prefer to hear it separately.

I absolutely love this podcast. My life coach Nik Cherwink directed me to listen to it when I was first starting out my own podcast (which still in the beginning stages). But it’s so entertaining getting to hear stories from some of my favorite artists as well as get some inspiration for my own show as my show also centers around the same topic. Thank you Willy Joy for this amazing show!

Always presenting great perspectives, not afraid to address important issues in the music industry and the world head on. There’s enough episodes to keep you busy for a year, get listening.

Casual interviews that get to the personal side of different music industry giants. - Big Catch

Love the show!!!

I am so happy I discovered Back To Back. This show truly brings out the relatable person behind the music and gives me so much more confidence and encouragement as a beginner music producer. Silly asks insightful questions that make the interview fly by and finish off by making me feel like I know the producers on a much deeper level. Listening to every episode, not getting old.

This is long overdue, but this has been, hands down, my favourite podcast for the last few years. Willy is a super intelligent dude and it shows from the way he speaks to the thought provoking questions he asks. Every episode flows so smoothly and naturally; rather than having a set of questions ready, Willy just begins a conversation and makes it up as he goes. As a musician I get a lot of insights into the industry, and I also really appreciate the overall production quality. 10/10

Get Max Pote (protohype) on sometime!!! He does the producer den at LL, offers mentoring classes online etc

Really informative podcast on all things music. Learned a lot about the industry just through these podcasts and how to deal with my own personal problems in my music. Thanks so much Willy!! 🔥🙏🏾✊🏾 Much love 😄

If you have any percentage of desire to be a music producer, DJ, live performer or even if you’re just a fan of creation, this podcast is a MUST. Priceless content.

For those who aren't familiar and are interested to know the history of their favorite edm artist . How they came about what are the struggles they deal with today to today , their influences and how to avoid the common mistakes they made this is the place to tune in. This whole podcast covers big names to upcoming names and also directs listeners on how the whole edm industry was forming and how it is today.

Willy’s passion for the industry shines thru and this podcast is a treasure trove of content for those of us outside the industry begging to know more of life within. I hope he continues to book big guests. Would love to see some Anjuna guys

What a great podcast and you get to hear conversations from a very unique perspective with the most talented artists/producers in the world. W Joy is one of the coolest cats there is.

This podcast is nothing short of phenomenal. I absolutely love it. Whether you’re a casual listener, or a full fledge DJ/Producer doing this line of work for a living, you’ll dig this podcast. Full of absolute gems and great insights into some of the greatest & most intelligent minds in the industry.

As a new and aspiring music producer, Willie and his guests give out so much information and resource. I enjoy every minute of listening to how chill the podcast is and how honest him and his guests are. Would recommend it to anyone! #MNnice

Dope podcast, super enjoyable to listen to, a unique perspective on the edm scene

Just stumbled across this gold. Much appreciated insight from great interviewees

Most inspirational podcast out there. No matter who the artist is, you always learn something new. Love it!

Provides a unique take on the interview. Industry talking to industry and a great way to find out about people on a deeper level than other casual media. Willy really does his homework with engaging questions that both he and the guest enjoy talking about. Great vibe for the car or anywhere. Can’t recommend enough for anyone trying to understand the industry or just want a different perspective.

If you're looking to hear some successful Music Producers/DJs share their stories and experiences, this is definitely one of the best places, if not, the best place. Because Willy is a successful producer himself, he always asks great questions and is able to have high-level guests, which is not something other podcasts can easily do. I listen to many podcasts from various genres, but lately this is the one that I keep coming back to almost every day just because of the sheer amount of knowledge and wisdom contained within every episode. I hope that Willy continues putting out this quality and hope to listen to some more artists that I highly admire. Guest wish list: Porter Robinson, Madeon, K?D, Third Party, Don Diablo, Kryder, Tom Staar, Shapov, NEW_ID, ATTLAS, Matisse & Sadko, Magnificence, or, if ever possible since these guys are really big (and very busy) Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Skrillex, Alesso, Galantis, Knife Party.

Every episode of this show is great and each conversation goes deep into the artists past and their feelings about everything from music to the industry and large.

I've listened to many podcasts, but Willy Joy gets the best artists, and asks them all of the questions you and I have always wanted to ask. So happy a friend sent this to me.

I love this podcast with everything in me! Being a producer and musician myself this has truly helped me figure out what i personally need to do in my music career. I am an ongoing listener and will be for a long time! Reccomend it to anyone who wants to know anything about some of their favorite artists in the scene!

I’ve been a fan for about a year and this is one of the best music production podcasts I’ve have ever discovered. If you’re an inspiring producer, lover of edm, or love anything music, this is the podcasts to follow. Willy joy does a great job talking with people in the industry and it’s awesome because he’s friends with nearly all of them! Each and every podcast is so awesome to hear and I literally can’t wait to get my Tuesday episodes!

I love this show so much. As a producer who sometimes feels isolated from being around other artists and creatives, this podcast has helped me to feel more connected to other likeminded people. Willy's casual and friendly demeanor really makes me feel like I'm a part of the interview, and his insightful and highly qualified viewpoints on artistry and the industry have helped me learn tremendously. I feel like this show more than any other resource out there has helped me develop the mindset of what it means to be a true artist. You're the man Willy, I got much love for you and keep it up. -Dantian

Truly a one of a kind podcast. Willy gets the biggest names in dance music and through well thought out conversations, Back to Back provides enormous insight into the electronic world that's invaluable for anyone trying to make it in the industry.

Loyal Listener from The PNW in Spokane WA

Hearing your favorite artists' background, thoughts, accomplishments, fears, etc is fantastic! What makes it epic is Willy's immersion and own history in the industry and how he helps guide the conversation while letting the artist feel free to express themselves. GOLD!

For anyone who is aspiring to work in the electronic music industry or enjoys watching the magic behind the curtains, this podcast is a breath of fresh air. Thank you Willy!

So much insight into the industry, and inside baseball talk. Show makes so much progress each episode, only getting better.

Honestly one of the best interviewers I’ve ever heard. I started listening because I saw NGHTMRE was on the show. Ever since then, I’ve listened to probably 10+ podcast all of my favorite artists. Dude seriously does a great job of asking interesting questions and the artists really seem to go quite deep with answers. Keep up the awesome work. Very inspiring!

Willy Joy has a really dope style of interviewing with amazing inside perspective from the music industry. SO many great conversations. This is a must-listen for any producer or fan of dance music.

Week after week, Willy bringing awesome content, great conversations with amazing energy. Love Tuesday morning having a new podcast ready for me. I really enjoy each guest has great stories about this industry we love and many have personal stories with Willy! If you love music or clubs or festivals, this podcast is a must.

My brother and I are aspiring electronic music artists from (the) Chicago(land area). Every week we listen to this podcast, discuss pieces of each interview that resonate with us, and use the knowledge to move the needle forward. There isn’t a blueprint for chasing after your dreams and there is a success story for every philosophy out there. Back to Back gives us insight into how the people we look up created their success. It shows us what’s “underneath the iceberg”. We also love how Willy Joy shows a lot of love to Chicago (that Kaskade episode was dope af). Thanks Willy for putting this together! We’re stocking up stories to tell you when we get to sit in across from you one day!

I found out about this podcast when I was listening to EDM Podcast with Sam Malta and Willy Joy was a guest on that show. This podcast has a massive guest list with great artists that you can’t find anywhere else. I enjoy listening to each artist’s background and how relatable they actually are. I hope this podcast grows and becomes one that all the greats want to contribute to. I’d love to hear more about what each artist’s favorite tools are and/or their creative process when making a new song or remix. Keep it up Willy! This podcast is killer!

Glad I came across this podcast! Gives an insight into the musician's life, their individual creative process, and some tidbits of how the music industry operates. Great musicians come on the show. Very thankful for these talented guests taking the time to come on the show. And Willy Joy is an awesome interviewer. As an aspiring music producer, I'd appreciate more questions about production and plugins etc haha. I've already recommended the show to a few friends and we're all staying tuned for future interviews. Can't wait for more episodes!!

I'm a lesser known artist and I love to hear about how the industry works along with hearing artist's back ground! 10 of 10!

Such an insightful podcast for any up and comer or veteran of the DJ scene. All Willy’s guest are at the top of their game and I feel so inspired after listening each week. Keep it up and thank you!!!

Fantastic mix of artst and industry guests with a lot of history and insider info. GREAT resource.

This show is hella dope! Impressive guest lineup and never a dull moment. Thanks Willy for the insights and vibes!

This one is great! I really like this podcast. I’m not even an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) fan, I’m into more Deep House and Techno, but I’m really into this podcast! This interviews are great, and the “homie” vibe is so sweet! And, it’s great to hear DJ/producers talk about the Electronic music scene. As a producer myself, it’s nice to know there are others who are like me: nice, normal people. Thanks, Willy Joy, for making such a great show! - Nick Elle

Willy is an industry professional and usually has some sort of experience with each artist. Asks engaging questions and I love getting to learn about my favorite artists, and they're huge artists. Thank you for doing this, been wanting something like this for a long time!

Real conversations with some of EDM's biggest. Willy Joy is the man! Love this show.

Early incredible podcast for anyone interested in getting into the music industry or just for fans who want an inside look at the artists they love. Super informative, always interesting, and very inspiring.

Interesting, funny, and truly inspirational talks with some of the best EDM artists out there. A great listen for both music consumers as well as up and coming artists.

This podcast is great. Willy is an awesome interviewer because he has relationships with his interviewees, allowing for a personal, unscripted discussion. Back to Back is an amazing way to connect the fans to the creators which supplements a growing, creative, and inspirational scene.

Hooked after the first one, great to binge these during long flights or drives- so much insight as to what's going on behind the music industry. So much content for producers as well in terms of market strategy and overall mindset. Amazing stuff!
