An adventure that you’ll never want to let go
I’ve been listening to Back Again, Back again since about half way through the story, and I kind of cannot believe that I haven’t written a review. Back Again, Back Again is the ideal form of what I like to call “The Audio Drama Novel” which is a fancy way of saying that this could fit either medium perfectly, because there’s so much emotional tone attached to each word but there’s so much lore you’ll need to listen again. That is the ideal way to experience this story though. Through the brilliant way the story has been weaved, every subsequent listen that you participate in helps to reenforce the feeling of a desperate Ilyaas clinging onto her glory days in Rhysea. The story of a prophecy child returning to earth and desperately trying to keep a memory alive takes some of the best theories about the days after a first journey to Narnia, and gives it a Tacit and palpable emotion. Grief. If for any reason, listen to this for a good few episodes and I promise you’ll be hooked like no other indie podcast in the scene.

Beautiful show!
I’m not usually a big fan of single voiced podcasts but this one is awesome! Great storytelling, intriguing and so well done.

Wonderful High Fantasy Subversion
This audio drama begins with familiar fantasy elements of alternate realms, prophecy, and unquestionably good royalty, but swiftly turns this last element on its head. This show retains all the great elements one expects from fantasy - epic fights, magic, heartfelt moments and romance - without the intrinsically good monarchy element I’ve come to disdain. Thankfully, this subversive story is very well-executed too. Eliza’s narration does the audio format justice and only gets better as the show goes on - voice inflections rich with emotion bring me into the world of Rhysea. Some clever turns of phrase brought out joyous laughter or grins, and some moments almost brought me to tears. I highly recommend this show! My only (minor) gripe with this show is that the world could be more fleshed-out but I’m hopeful that that will come with future seasons.

Fantastic!
I love Back Again, Back Again. It’s a compelling story that has me on the edge of me seat at the end of ever episode. The voice acting is great and despite it only being a story being retold, it’s like we are really reliving the events that took place. I love the sounds effects cause they’re not overwhelming and the storyline is so compelling. You know exactly how the story ends but only the ending. You don’t know what happens in all that time and because it’s being told with commentary. You’re drawn to important details without being obviously pointing at it. Its like a footnote that slides seamlessly into the narrative as whole. I highly recommend you give this podcast a try because it’s certainly getting me back into audio dramas. I love it to bits and can’t believe I didn’t join in sooner!

Queer Adventure In Another World
This is a beautiful show that brings all of the wonder, mystery, and adventure of the Narnia stories and classic fantasy, centering queer characters. The world being weaved is rich, inclusive, and eminently believable, juxtaposed agains the ordinary life the main character has now returned to. The writing and acting are great. Everything about the show draws you into this other world while building a sense that it's a beautiful thing that has been lost, at least for now. The only negative thing I can think of to say is that the transition to the closing music and credits can feel a little abrupt at times, not in the sense of it being an odd place to stop the episode, just that the sounds of the music feel a little abrupt. Everything else about the show is an absolute delight. You should be listening to this.

Queer Narnia?
Came because it was billed as “queer narnia” and stayed for the nostalgic vibes. A
