Long time in the making - and worth it
I heard about the idea for this podcast over 4 years ago and I'm glad to see it finally came to life. I was fortunate to be invited to share my expertise as a guest and love the focus on social change.

Wow, does this resonate personally and professionally!
I just finished listening to the first two episodes and feel uplifted, challenged and connected. The themes discussed resonate so strongly with me…identifying who I am in the context of the work and of my goals for my life. Figuring out what role I should be playing. Considering if my work contributes to the whole – there were times when I’ve wondered if any of my individual and collective efforts were making any difference. The podcast reminds you that this is a common struggle. It brings your mind out from the trenches to consider the bigger picture, by introducing you to effective leaders in a beautiful and intimate way. I’ve gained knowledge just from those two episodes. Can’t wait to listen to more.

Inspiration and Reflection on Social Change Leadership
Warren and Marcy Goldstein-Gelb connect the personal with the political in this new series. Social change work can be grueling and too often leaders neglect their own well being. Warren tells his own story of recovering from a devastating stroke and how his social change work and healing from trauma are forever intertwined. This series brings into the light the personal stories and struggles of social change leaders — stories that are not told often enough. A truly inspiring and thought provoking series.

Captivating stories and new ways of thinking
Fascinating! Usually, when I think about solving a problem, I’m thinking about the problem—analyzing it, brainstorming ways to get past obstacles. I’m not thinking about myself — how my attitudes or emotions or experiences set me up to solve or not solve it. This series is about that second part. It can give you the perspective to find a new angle of attack. But besides the practical usefulness, there are the personal stories of social change pioneers who changed themselves in the course of their work, in ways they never expected. I think my favorite is the story of Elena Latona who describes her journey from foreign student to immigrant leader to director of a grassroots organization focused on winning elections, starting with her discovery that she’s not white.

Start with episode 1
It’s probably obvious to most folks to start at the beginning but I was so moved by Marcy and Warren’s conversation in the first episode, setting the context and foundation for this awesome podcast series, I just don’t want anyone to miss it.

Making Change
I found these podcasts compelling and informative. As an advocate for improving the lives of people with mental illness and they’re families as well as advocating for equality for people with different sexual orientation or sexual identity B-change can be a great forum for advancing change.

Real conversations: Hooray!
I’m really excited about this podcast. I’ve known Marcy and Warren for many years and have always respected and been inspired by their commitment to social justice and change. I anticipate many great and timely topics being covered, with humor, hope and intelligence. The beautifully candid and inspiring first interview, with Warren drawing parallels between his recovery from stroke and the process of real social change, I feel nicely sets the stage for many more great conversations to enjoy and consider. Thank you for the work!
