Host Steve Perez with coaches and players wrapping up the final week of camp but there are many game faces already showing with the Sept. 5 opener now in view. Head coach Sean Lewis with preparations that include announcements of team captains that include some “hometown heroes, last-minute competition for positions and playing time along with his big picture view of the college game. Linebacker Tano Letuli is one of those guys who stops by for a visit, and also comes clean on how he handled the team’s recent water balloon fight. His position coach is Scott White, a local prep star in his own right, who talks linebackers and the other key player at the position, senior transfer Sione “Riz” Hala. White also lobbies the PPR on KUSI-TV for more airtime for his alma mater.

The Aztecs women’s soccer team loses a match against No. 10 Washington, but it wasn’t by much and have a chance to get back in the win column on the Mesa on Sunday, Aug.23.The Aztecs football squad continues to stack fall camp days…some positions settled, a few others…not so much. Head coach Sean Lewis stops by to weigh in on the squad’s development to this point and we hear again about life in the trenches. Defensive line coach David Lose returns to remind how rough it is there, which Aztecs offensive lineman Joseph Borjon doesn’t deny. New center Isaac Lucas breaks down his spot on the line, receivers Nathan Acevedo and Bert Emanuel Jr., the former QB, talk speed, route running and throwing a block or two. Safeties coach C.J. McGorisk and transfer Isaiah Green discuss the varied roles of the five backs in the 4-2-5 defense. And while the placekicker position on special teams remains an ongoing competition, the punting job is now manned by Tashi Dorjet. Special teams coach Zac Barton fills us in on the key third phase of the game.

There’s a mix of serious questions about coming back from injury along with a light-hearted moment between Lucky and Brady over who hits who the hardest in practice plus plenty of football talk in between.

The Aztecs football program hosts media on July 24, 2026 to introduce coaches and players and preview its first season as members of the Pac-12.
