The More I Listen
The more I listen and learn, the more I want to know. Any aircraft owner who hasn't read Mike's books is going to be maintaining their aircraft more than they should but less than they need. Knowing how to listen to your aircraft and understanding what to maintain is becoming more science but most of the technicians seem to be singing incantations and wandering about groping for insights. Their lack of the diagnostic method and skills and subsequent failures have cost me mid-six figures. Let's hope some of the wisdom discussed in these interviews shines some light.

I bow down!
Mike, I have more respect for you listening to your interviews and sense of curiosity in all aviation matters. It makes me want to learn more than just having fun and be better in my adventures of aviation, thank you!
And congratulations on your AOPA safety award. Well deserved for your GA safety contribution over the years. Cheers!

Very Good Podcast!
Great interview with George Braly.
One of the most fascinating articles I’ve read (besides the one you published in AVweb in 1999 about why we had nothing to worry about with Y2K) was a piece you wrote in 2012 called “Separation Anxiety”. I hope you discuss this with Jimmy Tubbs in the 2/2026 podcast. After reading that article, I always thought that the adverse effects of a bad break-in, were potentially a lot more serious than simply higher oil consumption.
Again, a great podcast Mike. Keep up the great work.

Great interview
I had lunch with George Braly and Tim Roehl 20+ years ago when I took my plane into ADA for GAMIjectors. I learned so much in that hour. The main thing I learned was that they were smart cookies. The LOP information and background information was excellent as well. He obviously has not missed a beat. I can’t wait for the next one with him.

Thanks for this Incredible Insight!
Dad was heavily involved and invested in both general/business aviation and sport flying and antique/classics. Listening to Mike Busch and his guests takes me back to listening to Dad & friends discussing the aviation industry challenges and successes they experienced. Please have George Braly back - for the rest of the stories!

Great Podcast!
The discussion was fascinating and am looking forward to more episodes with Mike and George (and others). I was privileged to take GAMI’s Advanced Engine Management Course in Ada. It was fantastic. I have also heard both Mike and George at Oshkosh. Both are making great contributions to piston general aviation.

Interview with George Bradley
I expected to learn quite a bit from this podcast, what I didn’t expect was how fascinating the story behind GAMI and 100LL replacements was/is! I thought the subject would be very dry, pun intended. It held my attention for the entire hour and a half.

Exceeded my expectations!
The episode with George Braley was full of lots of interesting aviation history… I was not aware he was so involved in the development of a viable turbo for the Cirrus SR 22. Fascinating! Thanks Mike!

Great podcast, all of Mike’s are! I knew who George was but had no idea of his background. A great synopsis of his 45+ years in the biz, his “aha” moment and his challenges bringing his vision to market. Kinda enjoyed his family coming and going in the background too!

A Must Listen for GA Piston Operators
Truly a spectacular dive into the birth and backstory of GAMI injectors, Tornado Alley Turbo systems and the 100UL program efforts. Those still flying rich of peak fuel mixtures should give this a look to reconsider their ops. For 22 years GAMI injectors have allowed me to fly my B55 Baron at 20-23gph mixtures enabling me to complete an 800nm trip at 10-11K’ altitudes non-stop with 22-32 gallons remaining in the tanks.

Best available aviation podcast!
I’ve followed Mike Busch for over 20 years now. This truly is the peak of his career as an educator of all things aviation. The first podcast with George Braly is enlightening and is a deep dive into George’s career highlighting his accomplishments such as Gamijectors, Tornado alley, and G100UL. It is a great look into how much effort was required to accomplish the things George did that has benefitted aviation so greatly. This new podcast is off to a great start and I’m looking forward to what’s next! Great job Mike!!
