I’ve listened to Audrey’s podcast for about 3 years now. When I first started listening I was a brand new actor who’d just arrived in Los Angeles and I found her guidance invaluable as I navigated classes, auditions (or rather, self tapes!), securing reps, working on set, paychecks, compiling competitive materials, etc. I 100% believe I would not have a budding acting career without this podcast. I have absolutely no freaking IDEA how non-nepobaby actors before the age of Audrey figured out this crazy industry, but I’m so thankful I don’t have to be one of them! Overall, what I love most about Audrey’s podcast is she doesn’t sugarcoat things or talk to “me” like I’m fragile - she tells it like it is, cutting through all the noise, because she genuinely seems to love actors. Also, I have found her pod remains cutting edge, even amidst this crazy tumultuous era for the entire industry. It seems like so many “thought leaders” out there continue to talk about the industry of yesterday, because it’s the industry they know and understand. Not Audrey. Audrey explores the industry of today and does her absolute best to share what she’s learning along the way in a clear and concise format, often with guests we’d otherwise have zero access to ourselves. I’ve yet to walk away from a single episode without a fresh, new takeaway, and for that reason I will be a lifetime listener, as long as I manage to survive this industry… Thank you, Audrey!

In my 1.5 years since moving to Los Angeles, Audrey’s podcast has been my top resource for understanding, navigating, and creating a strategy for my acting career. My top peice of advice for any new actor starting out, or for seasoned actors is to listen to Audrey’s podcast. She is extremely detailed, methodical, and data-driven when it comes to her acting career, and she’s a practioner. The advice she provides on how to work properly in your career has truly been invaluable for me, and she’s an excellent host and interviewer to all the incredible guests who come on the show! She’s also a leader in the actor community and has been on the picketing front lines during this strike. Lastly she is truly a role model for me in how I approach my career as an actor! Cannot recommend this podcast enough!!

This is a must listen for actors trying to better understand our union, the realities of our career path, and just to have a remind of how universal our struggles can be. It is also amazing for any and all who just want to better understand the life of the artists who make up so much of the content they know and love. Amazing podcast!

After listening to 101, I feel like I’m on the right track for me. There’s a lot of harmful information out there that leaves actors running in circles. Thank you for being real and offering us a more realistic and doable version of pursuing this dream. I have been really stressed out about my career. For the past few years I have been waiting for the “big” job, to start living my life (having my hair the way I want, traveling, living life etc).

I love this podcast! Is it blunt at times, yes but I need this podcast with its encouragement and truth! So helpful and generous of Audrey to give people in this industry an inside scoop of life in the industry straight from her fabulous guests’ mouths. I learn so much from her podcasts and it keeps me going when all hope seems lost in this industry.

I listened to the “Addicted to Success” episode with Leigh Hall and cried in my car during/after. It perfectly explained how I’ve been feeling in my pursuit of both acting and other areas of my life and put into words what I was struggling to understand about how I’ve been feeling. Perpetually feeling like I’m not doing enough, not doing the “right” things and talking myself out of allowing any joy in until I’ve achieved X, Y, or Z have been so draining. This episode resonated so much and now I see the pattern I’ve been falling into. Thank you, Audrey and Leigh! You’ve given me the aha moment I needed…now to enact some change. Also just realized Audrey Helps Actors is A.H.A. which, intentional or not, is perfect!!

NYC-based actor here. I was just visiting my Dad for a few days, and on the loooong drive back I was pretty happy to have Audrey’s latest with Leigh (Addicted to Success) to listen to. Really timely topic, I think, with the overall level of quiet right now (WGA negotiations, etc); I'm sensing le stress with my acting friends. I came to this acting thing after time in other industries, and, even though I realized pretty quickly that this business kind of follows its own (lack of) rules, I have to regularly remind myself of exactly the things discussed with Leigh. Gotta maintain some sense of balance (radical balance?), and ideally keep a long view, because living and dying by short-term shifts for better or worse is probably a recipe for a bad time. Thanks for doing what you do, Audrey!

Acting lights me up. Always has. In 2020, my financial woes forced me to take a full time job as a HS teacher to pay off my debt. I had to step back from acting. I felt defeated, empty. Why did it hit me so hard? I hadn’t surrounded myself with a dedicated, hard-working community who shared my ambition and love for the craft. Then, Audrey and Jesse, you came into my life and showed me community is alive and kicking. In the past three years, yes, teaching has taken up much of my time, but in all my spare time I’ve shot two one-man feature films during a pandemic, paid off my debt, and learned what it really takes to perservere in this business. It’s time for me to jump back into the business of acting with newfound wisdom and fervor. Audrey, thank you, thank you, thank you for finding your gifts and sharing them with the world. Audrey has so much insight into the business that she shares and she’s super passionate about it. I’ve been listening for a few years now and her podcast has been helpful in my growth and career. One MINOR note: lately Audrey’s been mentioning that some actors should think about leaving the industry (which is valid and I also agree with it) BUT sometimes it sounds almost like she wants to convince ppl to quit and I don’t love that “if you can’t handle the heat get out the kitchen” type energy but I get that some actors REALLY actually need to hear it.

As a person yet without overmuch industry experience, I cannot think of a better resource for clarity and information. Audrey and her guests offer such valuable guidance, insight, collaboration, and rationale when it comes to not only the business of acting but navigating life itself as an actor, that it sets the standard for what all podcasts ought to be. Though the statistics and data can be scary, I’ve found that if you’re committed to making progress in this industry, such intel is unflinchingly empowering. Audrey holds high moral and ethical standards which we can all aspire to and helps us do our best to enforce healthy boundaries for ourselves against other industry entities with perhaps less integrity. The message of this podcast sets a powerful example for any aspiring professional actor looking to make their way in this business.

I have grown so much in my career from listening to this podcast since 2017!!!!

I recently went down from Premium to Basic on Casting Networks after they arbitrarily raised their prices. Once I did, all of the media and photos I had uploaded years ago (for a cost) became “locked”. I know we all just deal with this stuff because it’s “the way it is” (I paid for those Slate Shots on Actors Access because they pushed those profiles to the top), but I’d rather hear a takedown episode on these predatory practices than an ad for their services.

Let me just say, this podcast again is a food for our soul. To know that it is OKAY to not book and mindset shifting in how we see this career! Please keep doing what you do Audrey! And thank you for doing it!

Audrey is so funny and deals with practical issues that anyone can use in any business. I found this podcast by literally bumping into Audrey at a backyard gathering, stepped on her shoe, and had an amazing conversation.
