N1) Many people are suffering from the long-term effects of COVID-19.
N2) In Japan, the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) researched symptoms after people were infected with COVID-19.
According to the research, 76% of the people were having some symptoms out of 63 people who were discharged from the hospital. The main symptoms are coughing, difficulty breathing, feeling heavy, loss of taste or/and smell, and hair loss.
Additionally, 48% of patients had symptoms 2 months after the onset of the 1st COVID-19 symptom, and 27% were still experiencing those symptoms 4 months later.
N3) According to a report from Italy, which gathered data from 143 patients, 87% of them still had symptoms even 2 months after the onset of COVID-19 symptoms.
The main symptoms were fatigue and difficulty breathing. These and other symptoms listed below might correlate with COVID-19. Other reported symptoms of long-term effects of COVID-19 are:
joint and chest pain, cough, loss of smell and taste, dryness of eyes and mouth, runny nose, red eyes, headache, loss of appetite, dizziness, muscle pain, sore throat, and diarrhea.

Some people may have a symptom of memory loss.
N5) The cause of these symptoms has not been discovered yet.
Some people are unable to work as usual or have difficulties in their daily lives after recovering from COVID-19.
There are some hospitals and clinics offering counseling on the long-term effects of COVID-19.
Experts say that it is important not to do intense exercise or push yourself too hard.
