This state of emergency is effective from August 1st to 15th. ●There were no new cases of COVID-19 in Okinawa in May and June. However, the explosive spread of COVID-19 took place in the late July, which led to a state of emergency. Groups of people are infected by the novel coronavirus in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. The bed occupancy rate in hospitals is already over 100%. ●Under the state of emergency, Okinawa prefectural government asks following things: ・residents in Okinawa to refrain from non-essential outings both in and out of the prefecture ・restaurants in Naha to close at ●In Okinawa, there are 37 remote islands with residents.
