Creation Desautels joins us for another conversation about mental health and therapy. First we talk about whether or not we're talking too much about mental health and if that has caused a rise in perceived mental health issues. Next we talk about a millionaire who challenged himself to go from being homeless to being a millionaire in one year. Then we talk about a viral question buzzing around on social media – man or bear? And finally we talk about the struggle of finding a therapist and Creation provides some insight as to why those issues exist.

We're joined this week by Lydia Standish, a local developmental preschool teacher and friend of the pod! We talk about screens in classrooms and the challenges that come with creating a healthy balance. We also talk about how blind students in Indianapolis will be able to experience the solar eclipse along with safety tips for watching the eclipse. And we talk about bridge collapse in Maryland and the conspiracy theories that sprouted from that event.

Here’s how blind and visually impaired students will experience the total solar eclipse

TIPS FOR VIEWING THE ECLIPSE:
1) Never, ever, look at the sun without proper safety equipment. Ensure that glasses have ISO 12312-2 certification for safe viewing. (Note, during the totality, you can take the glasses off and view the eclipse. The totality is the portion of the eclipse in which the moon completely blocks out the Sun.) With that said, be careful taking photos of the sun not during totality as you may burn up your camera's sensor with direct sunlight.
2) Make sure to plan ahead. If you are traveling, know it will be chaotic. Traffic will be bad getting to your destination and even worse leaving. Arrive at your destination early, bring snacks/food/and water, and plan to relax after the eclipse to let traffic die down a little bit. Depending on location, know that cell service may become overwhelmed by all the people at a single location and so download or print out maps and directions to get to and from your viewing location.
3) Have fun. The Eclipse is for many a once in a lifetime experience that can be life changing. Make sure to give yourself time to just look up, take it all in, and enjoy the eclipse. Be safe and have fun!
