Spore Shepherds
of the Fungal Forest

Audio Codex
Entry XXIV

Far beneath AshenReach sprawls a wilderness untouched by sunlight.

The Fungal Forest is a subterranean world of colossal mushrooms, luminous spores, buried rivers, and endless mycelial networks. Among its glowing groves dwell the Spore Shepherds—masked shamans, alchemists, and brewers whose culture is built upon sacred fungus and ritual intoxication.

Through potent mushroom sacraments, they descend into the Undernetwork, a shared psychedelic realm where memory, identity, and consciousness bleed together.

But all paths beneath the forest eventually lead deeper.

To the RootMind.

An immense, sentient fungal consciousness worshipped by the Shepherds and seemingly connected to the mysterious Mycelith—the hierarchical mushroom beings who inhabit its deepest reaches.

In Audio Codex Entry XXIV, we descend into the Fungal Forest to explore its strange ecology, sacred psychedelia, Spore Shepherd rituals, Mycelith castes, and the ancient intelligence spreading silently beneath them all.
