What nobody taught you in art school.
This is a really great series, focused on all the nerdy nuts and bolts of trying to have a career as an artist. But from a host who has a sense of humor and deep industry knowledge.

Cancer episode and more
While Paddy’s podcast is always informative, I want to say, having just been diagnosed with breast cancer, the cancer episode was especially timely and supportive. Best take away quote, “Mychart is now my new social media.” Recommend this podcast and episode.

Residency, Residency, Residency
Mostly what this seems to be about. The directness and honesty are good, but if residencies are not your jam it gets tiresome. A broader scope would be helpful.

Really great practice advice for artists
Just listened to several episodes and learned so much about residencies, grants, the benefits of networking just within these episodes. Really appreciate what Paddy is doing with Netvvrk.

Paddy is the fixer for Art Problems
Even after years as an artist in the NY art world and now in Austin, I thought I knew how to navigate this messy business. But Paddy has insight I didn't even know I was missing, with clear, practical advice for taking a step-by-step problem solving approach. Seriously, it's uplifting to listen to these. Not like homework or someone telling you to do the stuff you intentionally procrastinate.

Loving these.
Just listened to the new Episode, and then started listening from the very beginning.
Just finished Episode 4, and now I’m definitely hooked.
Paddy, you got me!
I’m a mid- career art making junkie, no formal training, no silver spoon, quickly going broke, over-qualified to get a real job -and they can’t afford me anyway! :-) (I think those were your words!).
Thanks for wanting to make a contribution. I hope it helps, but even if it doesn’t, I think it’ll be fun!
I’m a fan!

Paddy did it again
I don’t know how she does it but, once again, Paddy’s podcast made me feel better about an issue that is currently vexing me.

Helpful and clear information
I enjoy Paddy’s cut-to-the-chase approach to her thoughts and researched facts on approaching your art career, and her suggestions are clear and actionable. Also, I like the theme music, and I do the robot and dance each time a new episode starts.

Paddy J fan.
I’ve worked with Paddy one on one in years past on applicants, presentation, website edits and will still go to her should I need advice. She’s the real thing. Professional, knowledgeable, straightforward, and a genuinely nice person, caring and committed. It’s nice to now have her insights and knowledge in these bit-size pieces.

So much information for the mid career artist
Paddy is very generous with her information. Each podcast approaches one specific topic and she delves into it in great length. It is all very useful for mid career artists, who often feel a little stuck, and may need a bit of expert advice in making specific moves. The length of the pods is perfect, too. And she responds to questions on instagram!
Interesting pod!
If you don’t know, now you know.
This is a great podcast. Paddy Johnson is one of the few (maybe only) artists’ coaches I’ve found who offers sound professional insight with a holistic approach to the mental, emotional and creative challenges mid-career artists experience. Her programming always leaves me informed and uplifted.
I'd rather be listening to Ray LaMontagne
A MUST and A NEED
Thank you Paddy for all of this insightful information to help navigate the Wild Wild West of the art world. Every episode has an “ahaaaa” moment.

Yes! This is good stuff
OK I’m adding onto my review! The latest episode about public art commissions is so dense and helpful ! I’ve been daunted about how to approach this. Looking forward to more. This podcast is for mid career artists. People who have worked hard to learn the medium. Paddy is a straight shooter, articulate and knowledgeable. I just signed up for a (paid) small works challenge and I can see that it is not designed for someone at my level. Already jazzed to hear more.

Fantastic episode re: money
Thank you Paddy and Hannah for the real talk regarding money and all the psychological issues around it. I love the idea of setting up the bookkeeping chore as a lovely experience… I gotta put that into action.

Worth the listen!! Hannah Cole episode on Money
Found Paddy through Netvvrk. Have benefited immensely from her resources and that community. This podcast is definitely worth a listen!! The episode on money with Hannah Cole especially resonated with me. Thank you Paddy for the work you are doing for all of us.

Great podcast
This podcast is helpful and refreshingly no nonsense. Love the shorter format too, this is a nice alternative/compliment to the lengthy artist interview format podcasts out there.

So far so good!
Appreciative of the candid and open conversations happening here. On the waitlist for the mentorship as well. One small criticism is that I couldn’t find podcast episode notes on the website when I went there.
Could have been user error on my part. Excited to see where this podcast goes.

So appreciate the candor
Thanks Paddy,
That was great. I so appreciate your optimism and generosity while lifting the curtain to reveal the inner workings of the art world.

Exceptional
Paddy Johnson is a genius. For so long, artists have been struggling, thinking we had to do it all alone. Paddy has created a truly democratic and pragmatic approach for artists to navigate a career in the art world. If you are a mid career artist looking for guidance, don’t miss this podcast.

Great start! Looking forward to more!
Paddy Johnson has been a name in the art world for decades thru her blog Art F City so she has a wealth of wisdom to share.
I was so impressed with how well she articulated so much of what I’ve been thinking about for the past couple years.
I really look forward to having her be a trusted guide in upcoming episodes.

Good, short podcast
Looking forward to seeing where this podcast goes. Thanks for making it! My only feedback would be to use different intro music, I thought my headphones were glitching in a bad way.
